In 2015, he was suspended from practicing law for three years in Washington state after it was found that he was retaining client fees in his own personal bank account instead of a formalized trust - a potential disbarring offense. Definitely raises a few red flags when it comes to his seemingly endless cash flow to produce new shows.

I've been at a few events he and his husband have been at for shows he has touted as "theirs" and it is pretty obvious that they are not as important or taken as seriously as they make themselves appear.

It's great when people want to invest capital into productions; the industry needs enthusiastic and supportive investors. But the scale at which Nyberg has been doing it in the last year and the amount of self-promotion he has been doing alongside it is very strange. And making many sponsored IG posts about "your" success and what readings you've attended is just... downright weird and off-putting.
