lol. It's hard to be good when you pay money for a Broadway show and get community theatre acting.

Matt
thats really a horrible thing to say. whatever you have against shoshana, wishing something like that to happen upon anyone is horrible. bottom line, she is a performer and before that, a human and saying something like that crosses all kinds of boundaries

Oh, calm down. I don't care how they get her off stage, just do it somehow. Lock her in the prop closet for all I care.

Let's be honest, Shoshana is amazing. And her acting is ten times better than Eden Espinosa's. Idina's acting was the best, but I think Shoshana isn't too far behind. Shoshana is amazing and her voice makes up for ANY other flaw that she may have.
Matt, how's your acting? Since you're such a critic, you better be amazing...

please don't assume i'm a crazy wicked fan... or shoshana fan either for that matter. i just don't agree with wishing anything bad to happen to any performer.

Well I don't act anymore, but if you want to come over here I'll open a box with all my acting awards in it.
And Shoshana is amazing? At what? I've seen her twice and can't find anything remotely amazing about her. Her use of over"acting" is ridiculous and I feel bad for such a talented woman as Jennifer Laura Thompson for having to share a stage with her. That's my opinion. You have yours and I have mine.

k so this is another interpretation of what happened (credit to gewaltraud @ so beautiful)
shoshana was coming up for no good deed, her ankle got stuck in the trap door, she had a doctor look @ it, came back on, sang the hell out of no good deed, then finished the show and iced it after.
so basically her foot got stuck in the trap door.
poor sho, hope she's okay now.

All the Elphabas have to work with a trap door. The trap door evidently doesn't always function as planned. How that qualifies as a "curse" is beyond me.

Someone ought to tell Erik he's at the wrong theatre!

I know this is about Shoshana, but can someone tell me what happened to David and his finger with the trap door? I had not heard a thing about it. Thanks.

What, none of you ever heard the accidents that happened to the "original" (technically!) Elphaba, Maragret Hamilton on the set for the Wizard of Oz? The trapdoor for her Munchkinland exit didn't go off in time, and her dress caught on fire from the smoke bomb.
"During this performance, please feel free to let your cell phones and pagers ring willy-nilly. However, do remember that there are heavily-armed knights on stage and you might well be dragged up and impaled."

I know that story, her hands and face were burned from the fire due to the copper that was in the green make-up. I mentioned it to someone on opening night in Toronto, they were shocked to hear about it.
"Do you even believe in other worlds?"
"I find it a great effort to believe in this one"

Meh. Whatever happened, hope she's alright.
As for Shoshana bashing ... is her acting really community level? Seems odd. I haven't heard a *ton* of sound clips with only dialogue, but during Defying Gravity I loved the pacing between her and JLT. At the beginning of the scene there seemed to be a lot of (extremely appropriate) tension and panick, that I did not hear with Idina/Kristen, Eden/Kristin. Shoshana's lines I thought were well paced, emotional, belieavble, and sincere. Of course, this is just what I'm hearing from a couple different sound clips. But her voice ... wow. The more I listen to her, the more I like her voice better than Idina's. Her No Good Deed leaves me utterly speechless with chills running down my spine ... when I first heard her, I was way to bored with the songs and just saw her as mediocre, but my opinion changed fast.
