Anyone want to speculate who will get the lead role?
I do hope that it's a different celebrity who has taken it on Broadway for each city.

I’ve heard Mason Alexander Park will be taking the tour out.

As much as I know this isn't happening, I would violently foam out the mouth, find my faith again, and actually do my college work which I should be doing but i'm not because I simply don't wanna

Even if it’s not Park I highly doubt any sort of “star” does it. The way the touring market works is not built for “star” actors.

I could maybe see different performers sign on for different legs of the tour instead of one person being committed to the whole thing.
If any “star” could successfully take Oh, Mary on tour, it would probably be Jinkx Monsoon.

Somehow I could see Nina West doing it

They would be smart on tour to not link the show expressly with drag performers. I like the idea of different names going out for different legs.

I don't see it. This show doesn't really align with her "Family Friendly, drag is for everyone!" persona that she seems to lean into.

I wonder if Cole or another Broadway Mary (Jinkx, Jane, etc) would end up going in for some of the tour's more high-profile stops, like LA or SF.

Depending on the length, I wouldn't be surprised if Cole was the National Tour Mary.

they are getting decent TV and Film offers I can't see them doing the tour for six months

I could imagine Cole doing an engagement or two but not the whole tour.

I def think the Mary will be a "name" but the rest of the cast will likely be prior broadway understudies/swings similar to the Stereophonic tour

The difference is, unlike Stereophonic the show will likely still be running in NYC at the time the tour goes out. It's often harder to find strong understudies who can cover multiple roles than just finding a new cast for the road.

You know who I'd LOVE to see as Mary, if it ever works with her schedule? Ashley Padilla.

That'd be fantastic. SNL keeps them really busy though

And Ashley is still technically a featured player, having not finished her usually-mandatory two-year "internship" with the company. It's just rare that a featured player becomes a cast mainstay, even a star, this early on.

This is not a typical tour, from the couple of dates that have been announced, it looks like it is playing week-long stops in a limited number of venues, at least to start with. So I think it's not inconceivable that the entire tour performance window would be six to eight weeks, similar to a broadway contract. I think if we see a "name" on tour, it will likely be Jinkx - this is admittedly based on zero inside knowledge, just the idea that she's the right level of famous to be available but move tickets, and very used to the demands of touring.

Unless Lorne fires her, the SNL schedule completely makes her unavailable. SNL will begin their new season in late September/early October 2026 and the OH, MARY! tour kicks off in September 2026.

To lend some credence to the Jinkx idea: although there are only 4 stops with any kind of timing announced thus far, none of them fall over the November-December window in which she would usually be touring her annual holiday show with Ben Delacreme.

Does anyone have any insights why this is playing 5 day engagements? I'm a bit surprised by that. I hope the LA stop in a bit longer...

it seems like it is plugging into the calendar wherever it can as a "last minute" addition to many of the venues 26-27 season
