Part of the fun in watching the second season of The Gilded Age is seeing so many great Broadway folks on the home screen.  So being an elder Broadway theater goer, I made a list of how many Tony Awards are represented by those folks that have been on at least one episode....I'm up to 26 Tony Awards.  Has anybody else with time to spare done the math?

This article is from season one prior to the premiere, so it omits season two newcomers like Laura Benanti, but it lists all the wins and nominations of the cast that we knew of at that point:

I love most of these actors, but... this show was written and created by Baron Fellowes of West Stafford. A conservative peer in the House of Lords, one who hates unions. I just can't bring myself to watch.

Sad you are missing out on the glorious THE GILDED AGE. I’m blessed to be able to disconnect people’s annoying beliefs and appreciate their work. One of my old best friends is now costume designer of one of MAX’s major hit series and even though I will NEVER talk to his vindictive a** ever again, I can enjoy his work for the fabulousness it is. His work and his personal being have zero to do with one another. Debra Messing’s rants and political nonsense irks me but I loved her performance in BIRTHDAY CANDLES on Broadway.

I can disconnect too. The difference here is that I can not trust a baron from the House of Lords to write a fair depiction of class. Same with Downton Abbey, which I did watch. He actually made the aristocrats of imperial Britain likeable and sympathetic. I'm not falling for that again.

Clearly you just proved you cannot disconnect the two. The aristocrats in Downton were meant to be liked since it was a tv show. That was the goal. You make it sound like he had a secret agenda right from the start.
