Was The Hamilton Mixtapes the original name of the show? Or did this refer to some kind of demo Lin-Manuel Miranda made while he was writing the show? Maybe I'm just fantasizing about something cooler than it actually is. Anyone know anything more about the "Mixtapes"?

Posted: 9/30/15 at 2:14pmThe show was originally conceived more of a collection of songs that told Hamilton's story; when it was still in that form, it was called The Hamilton Mixtape (and that's how it was titled when it was first presented at New York Stage & Film several years ago. Anika Noni Rose was Angelica for that)

I believe that The Hamilton Mixtapes was the working title/original name for Hamilton. That's what it was referred to when he performed an early version of "Alexander Hamilton: at the White House in 2009.
Looks like it was also called that as recently as March 2014 when it was workshopped in advance of its run at The Public. https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Lin-Manuel-Mirandas-THE-HAMILTON-MIXTAPE-Gets-Spring-Workshop-at-the-Public-Theater-20140304

"Below, check out highlights from the musical as performed by Miranda, Gavin Creel, James Monroe Iglehart, Christopher Jackson and more as a part of Lincoln Center's 2012 American Songbook season."
Is this available to see/hear anywhere? Sorry if I'm a little late to the game. I saw In the Heights and enjoyed it and listened the album now and then. The Hamilton craze crept up on me (I am a very active theatre goer) but I hadn't been following Miranda's career very closely even though I've seen everything he's written and performed since Heights. Hamilton certainly makes me look at his talent in a whole new way and I am now going backwards to try and catch all I missed.

Questlove mentioned this when interviewed for Rolling Stone: "I was so thrilled when Lin asked me and [Black Thought] to produce the original cast album and create two companion albums, a remix record and a mixtape."
Does that mean we have two more Hamilton albums in the works!? The "remix record" speaks for itself, but what is this mixtape?

How lucky are we to be blessed with the genius that is Lin Manuel-Miranda. SO excited to hear this album, even more than the actual album.
