So, basically a one-act play?
I felt the same way about the one he did at Rattlestick. Just so talkie and nothing happening. But I loved the Whale. So on the fence about seeing this one.
I just don't get why people are so hung up on the idea that a play should be centered around "happening." I'm a big fan of plays that stay in a moment or a short period of time where not much happens because usually they say more about the way we are living as human beings in a more intimate way. I'm sure The Humans didn't won the Tony for its happening but for the powerful and telling depiction of a moment that all of us can relate to one way or another.
