If this is happening, where could it even go? Unless something closes, its the Marquis (assuming "Hamilton" announces tomorrow its going into the Rodgers)

I was thinking the Jacobs this summer, if It's Only A Play does not extend any further and closes in early June.
I really, really want to see this. I have seen and loved Stephen Ouimette in at least 20 productions at Stratford dating all the way back to when my parents took me to Stratford as a kid through this past year when he played the Fool with Colm Feore in King Lear and Bottom in a Midsummer Night's Dream.

Given the performance Lane is delivering, I doubt they would want to open after the Tony cutoff date.

Posted: 2/23/15 at 8:52pmI'm not saying they should open it in May. I'm saying they could just as easily open it NEXT season, as in Fall/winter 2015 or Spring 2016. I mean, the Chicago production was 3 years ago, and it's doing really well now, so it's not like Hamilton where they are worried about the buzz dying down.

Yes that is very possible, but everybody keeps hinting that Lane is going to return to It's Only A Play soon, so I was assuming that would happen when I suggested the summer.

Just fyi Stephen Ouimette is committed to doing The Alchemist at Stratford August 1 - September 19, not sure if that would affect any possible Iceman transfer.

Posted: 2/23/15 at 10:40pmI would think it would be a simple enough transfer it's just schedule and finding a theatre. It's a simple set, simple load-in, etc. But I would imagine with such a large cast they'd have to do a lot of hammering out of schedules and contracts so probably this fall.

Here is an article from the Chicago Tribune from December 2013, suggesting that there has been hope for a Broadway transfer (potentially before the Tonys cut off) all along ...
"The long-expected engagement, which has been talked about informally for months, is to be officially announced Wednesday by BAM. New York producer Scott Rudin (a longtime Broadway rights-holder of this title) is credited as a co-presenter of director Robert Falls’ Goodman production. In essence, BAM, which generally is a presenter rather than a producer, has signed a contract with the Goodman, which will re-hire these 18 actors and restage its hit show in another city. The plan calls for “Iceman” to re-rehearse in Chicago.
As to the question of whether “Iceman” subsequently will transfer to Broadway, Rudin said Tuesday in an email message that he “hoped” to then move the production to Broadway, where it likely would be a prestigious and costly ticket and would be well-timed for Tony eligibility. Various economic challenges remain, however, not the least of which is the difficulty of fitting in enough performances of an exhausting, five-hour show to make such a commercial endeavor viable. Then again, the show has a high-wattage Broadway star in Lane and formidable amounts of advance critical praise. And by first presenting the show at BAM, Rudin should be better able to amortize and control his Broadway costs by remounting the show under Goodman auspices.
“Iceman” will play Feb. 5 to March 15, 2015, in the BAM Harvey Theater. That run will be six shows a week in an 834-seat theater large enough to accommodate the original production, with a set designed by Kevin Depinet."

Posted: 2/25/15 at 6:28pmStephen O. is busy in Canada at Stratford from July through near the end of September, and who knows about any of the other actors with large roles. I hope it does transfer if everyone is available in October or so.
