The King & I Discounted Tickets

Lucked out and was able to snag 2 , let us say, less than full price tickets . I will leave it at that and not say anymore.

Okay. And what's your point. You can get a discount for The King and I. I saw it comped last week.

The King & I Discounted Tickets

No particular point. I posted it. If you did not want to read it, you should not have read it. Maybe it was people basically saying I was not interested in theater because I would not sell my soul to see Hamilton that pissed me off so I posted it. I am paying a small price to see a classic show without surrendering to the hysteria. Feels kind of good if you must know.

I also wanted to have a thread started without "Hamilton" in the title.

Mr. Roxy, you don't have to get offensive. I did want to read it. That's why I clicked on the article. I just didn't think it necessarily warranted a thread since there's common knowledge of discounts to the show. I thought at first that you were going to describe some sort of new discount to the show or if you were inquiring about discounts that I would've happily answered. I hope you enjoy The King and I because it seems you might need a little happiness and that show will do it for 3 hours. You don't have to get angry at Hamilton every 5 seconds either. It's a show. That is all. You don't have to see it, and nor do you have to be judged upon if you want to or not want to. Just because it is popular doesn't mean it is doing everything in its power to get attention by people on this board. It just is.

Sorry if it came off as offensive & I apologize to you.

I have had all sort of crap thrown at me because I will not see it. Many on the board & via pm's agree the hype is WAY over the top. The world is exploding and all anyone seems to care about is this show. If you like it and will pay a king's ransom to see it good for you & others.. I am turned off about it for the above reasons. My wife & I are going thru medical issues now and want to do things like we are doing. We would like to see more theater but it is not possible and we accept it. We see what we can & when we can

You said I need not get angry at Hamilton being mentioned every 5 minutes. When people seem to think your life is not complete without seeing it and when it sucks all the oxygen out of air I say enough is enough.

I have been seeing theater for 50 plus years and have never seen such mass hysteria over a show.As long as people do their thing and let me do mine, great

Let us now change the subject

I clicked on it cause I was interested in the topic as well but this is basically a child saying nah nah nah I got cheap tickets but I'm not sharing.

I know you get bashed a lot on here but not everyone is out to get you but this thread really served no purpose other then to try to rub it in peoples faces that you have some secret discount that we aren't allowed to know about.

I actually find some of your reviews entertaining about the shows you see but this constant moaning about ticket prices and Hamilton is beating a dead horse.

Nobody is forcing you to pay the prices or see the show. It's really not a big deal like you make it out to be

I got them from a source most on the board know & probably use. It is one of the theater world's worst kept secrets. I used to mention it in the past and got my head handed to me on a pole even though they want people to join so they want publicity.

To quote a line from your favorite unseen show, Roxy. "You are the worst, Burr."

It must not be that badly kept a secret since you just got tickets and the show has been on multiple times. Were you looking for some effusive praise for finally being able to score these tickets? No one here gives a sh!t so continue to be miserable and luckily we won't have to hear from you for at least those three hours you're seeing the show at less than full price *wiiiiiiiiiiiiink*.

Why did you start talking about Hamilton if you are tired of people talking about Hamilton?

Also, can someone enlighten me as to what website Roxy is even talking about?

You might want to scroll up and see who made this into a Hamilton thread to begin with. Or, I can hand you a mirror and save you the time.

Talk about over-the-top hysteria.

"Over the top hysteria"

Yeah the world is just about in tip top shape right now. When you say hysteria something else comes to mind right about now.

Throughout history, theatre has continued through wars and challenges as difficult and far greater than what we are currently experiencing. If you are so concerned about the state of our nation and the world, I'm surprised to find you here venting in such a trivial forum as a theater chat board. No wonder so many commenters seem to get in pissing matches with you.

Yes, its the fault of those that want to see Hamilton that the world is in disarray. If going to see Hamilton... or any other show can wash away our troubles for a little while, that's wonderful.

BTW... Hamilton is listed in the thread title of exactly ONE thread of the current FIRST PAGE... which is 50 posts, I believe. I also don't remember a single person going after you because you don't plan to see until you can go for less money. Additionally there are a tiny few that care when you post about TDF, assuming that's who you are implying. YOU bring up far more negativity than everyone else you accuse of it

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Roxy just made this thread to brag that he got them from Gold Club.
