I thought so.
Does anyone else laugh at "Olly olly oxen free?"
I always just burst out laughing - well, more so when she says "sorry."

When I first heard it on the website, I was a bit confused. Now that I've seen the show, it all makes sense, so yeah, I chuckle a bit. Ha.

Franca is pissed at her husband (name?) and kisses Fabrizzio to make a point - Clara flips out. Logically.
That's a very uneloquent way of putting it.

I really thought Alice Ripley sang it better.
EDIT: Not to sound like I'm discrediting Vicki's soprano, but Alice just has that ridiculous belt. I just like the way Alice used more of her voice on the song.

When did Alice Ripley sing "Fable?"
Confused.

First of all, it's called "Fablelark." We don't need to start confusing people.
And Alice JUST finished up her run starring in The Baker's Wife at Papermill.

Posted: 5/26/05 at 10:35ami have to disagree. caroline was in my opinion self indulgent and to lacked any emotional availability to the audience. if i wanted to watch ashow about a grumpy maid i could watch reruns of the jeffersons..at least that was entertaining.

I LOVE Caroline..
I haven't seen Piazza. I am OBSESSED with the sampler though.
And I went to get the OBCR yesterday at Borders, but it wasn't there. Those skanks.
I bet Barnes and Noble had it....
Caroline is a bit muddled at times, but even so, it's brilliant.
I love musicals that make you think...
About what's REALLY happening to these people...
I can perhaps understand the self-indulgent comment regarding the score...
But it was an absolutely astounding night in the theatre...
Piazza... I absolutely cannot wait to hear the rest of this score...
"You stop, you stop right now, you move, you move away from here.... He is mine, he'll always be mine!"
Gah... I love sung through conflicts...
So gorgeous, so complex.
Melodically, harmonically , emotionally COMPLEX.
He really is the next Sondheim.
Except his lyrics aren't exactly up to par with Sondheim's... they're very different lyricists..
Brilliant, nonetheles...
Ok, I'm done.

Posted: 5/26/05 at 1:37pm"Tirade" is so good! I wonder why he changed "YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME!" to "YOU'RE NOT IN CHARGE OF ME!". Wouldn't the first phrase exhibit better characterization if Clara has the mentality of a 10-yr old? Just a pet peeve of mine.

Posted: 5/26/05 at 1:41pmYou're not the boss of me is much too modern a phrase for this show.
