the National Theater has put out audition notices looking for boys to play NOAH in their production of Caroline or Change.
all I can say is: IT'S ABOUT TIME!

I didn't really get into it until this past year, but I really like it. I first I was like "Wicked should have won for best score" - then I heard Avenue Q and thought "no, they should have won" - then I went back to Wicked and thought it should have won, and then I heard Caroline or Change and was blown away. It was so beautiful. I love "I Hate The bus" - so beautiful.
Whoot! Something else for me to spend my money on.... As if I didn't already have enough problems with Wicked, Avenue Q, Evita, Dirty Dancing, Footloose and the Buddy Tour, oh and Rocky Horror in 3 weeks time. Just what I needed. At least I've already seen Seven Brides and Sweeney Todd. It's a good thing I don't want to see Whistle Down the Wind This is not good for my student budget!
In all seriousness though, this sounds like a great idea from the National Theatre. Any clues as to when it'll be opening
yes! when Ave. Q won the tony i was sorta baffled. i mean, I love the show and all- but best score? come on!! in a year with Caroline or Change AND Taboo...
I Hate The Bus is amazing. I also love Emmie and Mr. Stopnick. and well, pretty much EVERYTHING!
i still think there should be a different Tony for lyrics AND music.
avenue q should def. have gotten lyrics.
but Caroline was the most amazing score the season (of any season in a while, i must say)
preview begin the 9th of October
I had to design the costumes for this show for a school project and we spent a semester analyzing it and its time period and characters, and I have fallen head over heels in love with the show. It is heartfelt, smart, melodic and chock full of very real characters.

Best. Show. Ever.
And I really LOVE the national theatre! They do the best work. Why who why is London so far away!

i bought the libretto at Barnes and Noble the other day.

I'm sure it will be revived sometime. Probably not soon of course, but its a great "star vehicle" for whoever gets to play Caroline. I wish it would have toured or something. I would die to see a production of this show. It seems like its something best seen live with all the talking moons and dryers and whatnot.
Studio Theatre in DC is presenting this show as well. I'm looking forward to it.

Just as long as they keep that pretentious gibberish away from my door.

They have cast the ensemble from what I am told. One of the GSA final years got a part. Very sassy lady who diva sung "Raven" at her showcase.
I think this show could do well in Chicago. Not sure who could put it on. I guess I just wanna see it period. Haha.
Wheres the NAtional Theater???
London, England.
LOL seeing it like that makes me laugh!
The National Theatre of Great Britain and yet us on the celtic fringes have our own national theatres now too. Get to have our cake and eat it!
Now that Paris Bennett is out of a job...I would love to see her play Emmie to Tonya's Caroline...Their tone of voice is quite similar.

Isn't Julia McGirt playing Caroline? She was a PHENOMENAL Effie in Dreamgirls when I saw it in highschool.
What's Tonya doing right now? Sorry to threadjack, but does anyone know what she's up to?
she WAS in CoC in LA, i think
