hopefully that won't be for a while so let's let them worry about that then, I'm sure they will come up with something exciting.

I am waaaay too exciting for their Tony performance. I think its because now everyone will get to see the magic of this show :) Updated On: 5/29/08 at 10:36 PM
I know there's a lot of love for Krysta!Nina on here, which is great, but, having seen two of the three Nina u/s now, and having seen Janet!Nina more than once now, I love Janet!Nina- an absolutely beautiful performance. I may have cried during Breathe. Amazing.
(ps- random thought- does anyone know the order for the u/s board? Because shouldn't Nina be listed above Vanessa, based on bow order?)
I have no idea how 'sold out' the show needs to be for standing room to be sold, as, post lotto tonight 1- some people left, 2- some people bought tix at the box office, and 3- some people entered their names in the second lotto, the one for the standing room tickets. The box office was still selling tickets for tonight (I think only full price orch was left, but there was availability) when the u/s board went up, after both lottos were done. So, again, no clue how 'sold out' it needs to be.
But- the standing room view is NOT GOOD. Like, it has nothing to do with being able to stand during the entire show or not. I stood in one of the spots to see the view, I'm 5'7, and if I crouched down and put my chin on the wall (there is a wall to lean on) I could *barely* make out the top of the awning of the bodega- there will be no view of the second level of the buildings, of the fireworks, etc. Probably ok if you're a repeat viewer and know what you're not seeing, definitely not something I would recommend a first-time viewer of the show purchase.
yummiest nickel- I am very intrigued as to who you are and what you do at Heights. Not enough to want you to tell me, but- if you're somehow in a position where you know when Janet!Nina will be happening again, my PMs are always open to you.

yummiest nickel: For any info on anything in the heights, my PMs are open to you as well .
And Anakela, could you elaborate on the performance of the understudies? I personally loved Krysta as Nina, and I'm dying to hear about her Vanessa.

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

Sure, I'll try... I've actually seen Krysta's Vanessa before, she's great- I *love* the way she does Champagne, from flirty surprise at the start (she hides the champagne bottle behind her back, etc.) to the right amount of frustration/heartbreak leading up to the kiss, and the "I'm just too late." Her It Won't Be Long Now is great- she doesn't cop as much 'attitude' against the boys as Karen does (ie mocking Luis, etc.) but it's still good. Definitely not as belty on the 96,000 vocals as Karen is- I really *hate* comparing u/s to the usual actor, but it's just that song especially is made for the huge belting "I'll be down town" thru the chorus- but still really good. And, nothing to do with any of her acting or singing, but it's interesting when Vanessa is shorter than Usnavi. :)
Janet is just... amazing. I think I might've said this all the last time I saw her go on, but great vocals, great acting, and I love how expressive her face is. Her scenes with Carlos and Priscilla were excellent, and she has great chemistry with Chris.
This was my first time seeing Stephanie go on as Carla (I've seen Krysta, and of course Janet), and she was good. At the end, I *loved* her harmonies w/ Andrea on "the hydrants are open..." She didn't have quite the attitude on "but I always say I'm from Queens!" but it still worked, and got the laughs. She actually got really huge laughs on her delivery of "spreading Jesus's love," which was great.
Thank you so much! Im glad to hear they were good. And also I'm happy that all of these understudies are getting their chances in the lead parts.

-edit- PS Nickel, if you could be PM me too that would be fabulous and I would be incredibly thankful!

Sweet. I tried pulling a few strings to get into The View, but, alas, it didn't work out. And I'm not getting up at the ass crack of dawn to wait in the stand by line.
I really only wanted to go in case they gave away free tickets to the show. Yes, I'm that shallow.
ugh please no games, this is a love/discussion thread
