The choosing was not...

My friend is seeing the show tonight and Marcus Paul James has joined the cast as ensemble. I'm assuming he is now in Josh's old track and covering Benny.
Testing (or anyone else)- were you there last night? Heard Blanca went on for Daniela, I think that's the first time she's gone on (?), was wondering how she was.

I saw the show two nights ago and wow. I would see that show again just for "96,000" During that whole number I had the the goofiest smile on my face, and could not wipe it off no matter how hard I tried.
Yep, was there !! Electric crowd. Blanca was VERY good ! Powerhouse voice, and very funny (pretty funny--- during her "I've Got Something, something part....she forgot to bring out the pocketbook !! She had to go back into the salon to get it. )
Tony was on for Eliseo- what a great voice, and he was excellent !!
Awww, lol- the forgetting of the purse cracks me up! According to broadwayunderstudies Doreen is only going on Fri-Sun of Andrea's vacay, so I'm hoping that means I can catch Blanca Tue-Thu that week.
I have decided that if I don't get tickets for my birthday on Wednesday I'm gonna to splurge and buy tickets for my mom, my brother, and myself for our trip on Sept. 21st. They have never seen a Broadway show (this will actually be my brothers first trip to the city) and I really want them to see this show.

This show is absolutely incredible. Discovered it while watching the Tonys, and I was completely floored by the performance. A friend of mine bought me the OBC while in NYC a few weeks ago and it has not left my stereo or been off of my iPod. (It's the perfect music to work out to as well. Treadmill time goes by in a jiffy!) Every song is filled with passion and can spark something inside of you. Lin-Manuel Miranda is a genius, and I hope to see more from him on Broadway in the future. I would kill to see the show, unfortunately no one else in my family shares the same In The Heights enthusiasm as I do, but such is life. In The Heights is definately a welcome addition to Broadway, and I for one hope it sticks around for a long time!

sorry to completely threadjack, but I figured this is the best place to ask. For those of you who saw the show off-broadway,exactly how different is the show now?
Just came back from this afternoon's performance, and:
The role of Usnavi will be played by Shaun Taylor-Corbett The role of Piragua guy will be played by Tony Chiroldes The role of Daniela will be played by Blanca Camacho
Well, I always like to see understudies, but it is hard not to be disappointed when Lin is out. He has been out what? only 5 or 6 times (not including vacation) and I caught two of those performances. I was happy that Shaun was on rather than Javier, just so I could see someone different.
Shaun was great! He understands the humor and sensitive sides to Usnavi and has great chemistry with Karen, Olga, and Robin. He fit the part very well, and I would have no problem with seeing him again. When I saw Javier I thought he was good but a lot of the attention normally on Lin I spent on the rest of the cast. With Shaun, I focused on Usnavi. It's good to know the show is in good hands if Lin leaves.
Blanca was okay. Her accent isn't as strong as Daniela, which I think takes a little bit away from the role, and it went in and out, which was distracting. Still, she did her job and the audience loved her. I missed Andrea though? Hope she's not sick.
Tony Chiroldes is funny. I don't know what else to say. Whether he is the Piragua Guy or is normal ensemble part, he is this little dorky/creepy guy and it fits perfectly. Make sure to watch him when he is in his normal role (especially during The Club and Carnaval del Barrio). Lots of laughs. His Piragua guy and Eliseo's are very different. He has a much stronger personality, while Eliseo seems sweeter and more sensitive. Both are enjoyable.
Carlos still cracks in Inutil and Blackout, I don't know if he has something chronic, but it is very distracting and disappointing. He doesn't seem to be enjoying the show and it takes a lot away from Kevin and Nina's conflict. In my opinion, he is the weakest link.
The rest of the cast was on fire, especially Robin, Karen, and Olga. I saw a lot of new faces in the ensemble tonight, including Marcus and Noemi, and for the first time I saw Michael Balderrama. Everyone is into the show 100% and their passion shows. It's a great night (or day) of theater every time!
Unfortunately, this was probably my last time before school...
taylorPHENOMENON2- Blanca will be Daniela on Wed the 27th (I already have my ticket!). Doreen will be Daniela the 29th - 31st (caught her Daniela again this afternoon, still obsessed with the way she hits that second "Hey!" at the start of Carnaval.)
I think he said he goes to L.A. next week? I know he'll be there thru this weekend, I'm bringing family to the Saturday matinee (ahem- if anyone here wants to help me with lotto? lol) and he said he'd be there.
AND- I am going to see 9 to 5 on 9/5, soooo excited!!!!
Hey, I got tickets for the August 31st show and this will be my first time seeing it. I only have heard the cast recording and love Andrea's role and how she protrays Daniela. I know Andrea will be out and Im ok with that lol but how is her understudy???
