Nehal's been on a few times in the past few weeks
Nehal Joshi sounds and acts the Enjolras part beautifully. [In his regular part as a Constable and Lesgles, his is usually that wonderful booming officer's voice at the barricade.] As Enjolras he is expressive and his singing is clear and in tune from the first note of every line. [Aaron has not been so clear the last few times I've seen him.] I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate Nehal's performance.
p.s. When the time comes, I would love for Nehal to replace Aaron.
pps: Do they need to find a bigger name, or will they settle for a great performer?

I just wanted to point out he was in on Saturday night, but he was obviously sick. You could hear the nasal singing and lack of power. Also, when he said "if it is within my power" he turned away from the audience to wipe his nose. I give him credit for performing while he is sick, but felt his performance lacked from when I saw in November.
Leave the man alone! An injury like that is not something to screw around with. It's better for him to miss shows than risk hurting himself worse.
If someone is that sick/injured that they are constantly missing shows, then they really need to step down and let someone else take over. It's only fair to the production as well as the audiences.
Honestly, how many sick days are you allowed in your job?
Well, Aaron is not renewing his contract and I believe there's a casting notice up for his replacement, so it would seem that he's doing just that.
Who are you, his agent?
" Do you really think someone works towards this goal only to not respect it and just miss shows cause American Idol is on that night?! =)"
Not at all. I don't for a second doubt his inability to perform is the truth. That wasn't my point.
They are both fine actors and singers, love em both.
But more importantly, secret-soul, where is your icon from?

a certain happy place
Is Loruh28 always, how shall a phrase this, a twat?
Pompous Jerk are two words that I wouldn't associate with Aaron.

Passed by the theater tonight and noticed that Drew Sarich was out, at least according to the "At This Performance..." board.
It made me think of this thread and chuckle.
He had a concert last night where he rocked out. He was resting his chords today. Don't hate.

Good word. And yes. I am. Always in fact. Get over it or get used to it.

Or...maybe you should get over being a "twat"? Just flipping it around. I haven't been paying attention to who's said what, so I can't comment on the validity of the twat accusation.
I haven't heard anyone call someone a twat since like, 2001.
That's so old school.
Drew Sarich was on for Aaron at the matinee today and he was brilliant.

I love both Drew and Aaron (talentwise). I'd be happy to see either of them. But I've already seen Aaron in Piazza and I haven't seen Drew live.
I've seen Drew dead and he was great in Lestat.
He's more than brilliant. It's a shame he didn't get Enjorlas full-time.

Amen, melody!
Neck injuries like Aaron has are very serious should NOT be fooled around with. If he needs time to rest, go to therapy, recooperate, whatever...then he needs that time.
Theatre is not like the jobs many of us have, where we can still go to work sick and just "suck it up" throughout the day. If an actor is sick, or injured, his or her performance suffers. Nobody, including the actor or the theatre-goer, wants to see a lousy performance.
But my gosh...clearly the man is not well...you people who are annoyed because he's not there need to get over it. I think a person's health is a little more important than the money paid for a show ticket.
Get well soon Aaron!

Sooo... seeing the show tomorrow afternoon. Which Enjy am I likely to get? Ahhh, it's like some kind of roulette! XD
The only shows I've seen this week that didn't have understudy slips peeking out of the Playbills were 'Company' and 'Pirates Of Penzance', and I've seen seven so far...
I repeat. This isn't about being pissed that Aaron isn't there. It was going to be a tally of the UNDERSTUDIES that DO get to go on when Mr. Lazar is resting up.
Drew Sarich for Enjolras!
Drew was incredibly sweet at the stage door (I saw him as Grantaire) and from what I've seen on the unmetionable site, He's pretty good as Enjolras too... YAY DREW!!!
For those keeping track, Drew was on as Enjolras yesterday -- just the matinee. Aaron did the evening.
yes...and he was BRILLIANT.
