I think I've agreed with VintageSnarker about this many times, Kristin Chenoweth in the Apple Tree is one that I still get sad thinking about and I still hope PSClassics may get the old gang together and record it (especially since the previous recording is from 50 years ago and could use a new fantastic recording).
I also wish they had recorded Jessie Mueller in On a Clear Day and Into the Woods (because she's so fantastic and I want more of her in my collection). There are several Encores! productions I wish had been recorded: a new Bells Are Ringing with Kelli O'Hare, Anyone Can Whistle with Sutton Foster and Donna Murphy. Speaking of Donna, I would have loved a recording of the Follies starring her, Victoria Clark, Victor Garber and Michael McGrath. And just from this summer, a new recording of A New Brain would have been wonderful.
"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."
LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE with Jenn Gambatese (who was Mary in the Guthrie production). That was such a lovely score, and Jenn Gambatese gave a devastating performance that her replacement on the tour couldn't touch.
The original London cast of Chess. It's criminal that they never made a complete cast recording (especially since the only recording of the full show is of the awful Danish production).
The 2012 Goodspeed production of Carousel - I still hold out some waning, irrational hope that it will transfer and get recorded. The power of the vocal performances in that cast and the memories of hearing them live have ruined the other recordings of Carousel for me.

Ooh, now that you say it we do seem to be having the same conversation over and over.
I can't say I'd want the whole album but hearing a song or two from some flop shows through If It Only Even Runs A Minute makes me very curious about what the entire score sounds like.
Norm Lewis in "The Phantom of the Opera." He appeared with Sierra Boggess for a large chunk of time, but I think I'd like to hear the alternate Christine, Mary Michael Patterson, who was fantastic. Besides, we already have Sierra on the London 25th recording.
Audrey, the Phantom Phanatic, who nonetheless would rather be Jean Valjean, who knew how to make lemonade out of lemons.
