I don't like what I am reading so far...

#broadway Hollywood stars don't make OCC nominations except Michelle Williams. Idina Menzel frozen out
I wonder if that includes NPH, too?

Aladdin nominated over Bridges or Bullets?

That doesn't surprise me so much. It generally got better reviews that either of the other two.

Yah, that's not a surprise. I would expect Bridges over Bullets based on the reviews, but Aladdin got better reviews than both.

So Lady Day is OFFICIALLY a Musical??? Does this put Audra in the "Best Actress in A Musical" Tony category??

In my mind, the frontrunners for Best Director of a Play (John Tiffany) and Best Featured Actress in a Play (Celia Keenan-Bolger) were snubbed.

Les Miserables for direction and lighting? Wow.

blaxx, I know they're not the Tonys. But the Administration committee has yet to rule on Lady Day, and this could influence their choice to classify it as a musical vs. a play.
Other strange observations... Rylance for LEADING for Twelfth Night, McKellan for No Man's Land rather than Godot, and Les Miserables for DIRECTION? Strange.

Idina didn't really get snubbed. The competition was fierce.
Audra got her slot.
But I can't think of a single one of those 5 ladies who doesn't 100% deserve their noms.

I say this every year, but it's worth repeating...
This is the organization that extends membership to Corrine.
I wouldn't worry much about these nominations.

Bridges, Bullets and If/Then all pushed under a bus.

A weird mix of nominees, per usual from Outer Critics, and I doubt we'll see very many duplicated next week.
