"The Producers" movie trailer... What are they waiting for?!?

It just seems to me like this should be out right now. The movie opens in about four months and still no trailer has been released! They must have some real idiots working the marketing campaign for this film. Filming ended a while ago if I'm not mistaken....

Has anyone heard anything?

40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN is the main rumor right now. We'll see...
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

"Goodbye" would be fun over the credits - similar to the outtakes Pixar has in their films.

I don't. Don't get me wrong, I love the song and think it's funny, but on stage it's basically there to give time for Springtime to set up, and if there are two new songs coming in, they're gonna be looking for time savers to cut. I'd be upset, but not surprised to see it go.
I hold a degree in Musical Theatre from Montclair State University. It is useless. Now I'm funny for money. Oh, and I sing.

What are they waiting for? One of three things: 1. 40-Year-Old Virgin 2. Labor Day 3. Hell freezing over

On the subject of the supposed R-rating- "violence/gore"? That's frickin' hilarious!

well, yeah, that'll probably go. But that hardly leaves room for two knew songs, does it? I'm not saying it's definite that they'd take out "Good Luck", but I'm saying it's logical.

Frankly, I'm glad they're waiting to release the trailer. People get sick of a movie before it's even out when it's promoted 5 months ahead of time. There's such a thing as over-promoting and I for one am glad that the marketing staff decided not to push this film too hard.

Although I can't wait for the trailer (and the movie itself), I'm happy that they've decided to wait until a decent time to release it.

JMHO.

I hear that "Bad Luck to Say Good Luck" and "Where Did We Go Right?" are cut.

I also hear there's a huge Busby Berkely type set for "I Want to Be a Producer", and that "Prisoners of Love" will include scantily clad chorus boys.

Tells have it..

T'aint very good - lots of trouble with editing - among other things - but that's just hearsay -

of course RENT is finished - and has an entire studio behind it pushing it like a mutha! - and it's pretty ready to start being test previewed in the Heartland come September(which will make or break this film and "The Producers")....That studio is pretty sure they have the next Chicago on hand...

As for The Producers - not so sure!

I don't think that one should instantly assume the worst.

I think Universal is going to promote THE PRODUCERS very heavily, but much closer to release date. The movie-going public is easily distracted and it's just as easy for a film's 'buzz' to burn out as well as build.
