The Public always gets great reviews and great public responses. But very little Tonys why is that?

Sorry I meant for transfers ON Broadway Updated On: 3/18/15 at 06:24 PM

Look up the eligibility rules.

The Public is OFF B'way. Ineligible.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Critics can't vote for Tony awards. Tony voters chose the shows they like best. The fact that they are from the public should be irrelevant unless a voter has a specific vendetta against that theatre.

Transfers from the Public to Broadway have garnered more Tonys than any other non-profit in the country, have they not?

I would suggest that there's a recency bias in play here, because at least according to Wikipedia the Public has won 42 Tonys and 4 Pulitzer Prizes.

Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.
