Forget Peters. And Roger. And Paige. And Page. And the rest. The person who was snubbed by the Tonys this year was Tyne Daly. She was remarkable in Master Class, and deserved to be on any list of best actresses.

A agree as well, she's never been nominated in the Best Actress in a Play category, which is odd to me. and Master Class was very successful and she even took it to the West End. I think it being gone from Broadway hurt her and Cynthia Nixon was more remembered.
You wanna know who was really robbed? Kerry O'Malley was robbed. That's who was robbed.
I thought Daly was excellent, but due to no fault of her own, I found her lack of any actual resemblance to Callas to be distracting. Which begs the question, shoulda you're deciding between two actors for your final pick in a category (if you're in the position to vote for an acting award), how much should the actor's "rightness" for the part effect voting? For example, everyone felt Bernadette was miscast in Annie Get Your Gun, but she still won a Tony for it.
Tyne Daly gave one of the best performances I have ever seen.
I was really pissed that Daly wasn't nominated. She WAS the play, so why bother nominating it for Revival of a Play. It's a fine play, but it's Callas' show, and she WAS Callas.
