Sorry if this was posted before but I just read that Season 1 of Rosie's talk show is finally coming to dvd. I can't wait to see all of those classic Broadway performances again!!
Wait... correct me if I'm wrong, but it has to be "highlights" of season 1.
Or it would be about 200 hours long and about 30 discs.
Doubtful.
It was an hour show, five days a week.

Yeah, probally hilights!
jpbran me too! i'm sure he is happy though... as am i.
She should just do a Broadway disc, like they did with Ed Sullivan, though having a few shows mixed in with all those other highlights on a disc would give more exposure to Broadway.

A simple link would have validated this post as I just spoke to a guy in Rosie's office and he has no knowledge of a confirmation of any such DVD. He said that Rosie has been working on the editing and compiling of footage from the 1st season/1996 of her talk-show for a few years now, but nothing has been finalized. He did confirm that whenever it is completed, it will be a greatest hits/highlights DVD and not a Complete 1st Season DVD.
There ya have it, folks.

That too.
Oh, sorry about that link. I thought the TVSHOWSONDVD link was posted but I guess I hit the wrong button. Thanks for posting it though, husk charmer!
Haha, Brody got caught in a blatant, pathetic lie.
OK, I'M HERE! LET THE CELEBRATION BEGIN!!!!!!
I literally got dozens of text messages and e-mails about the news and am, of course, VERY VERY excited. I did some digging and here's what I heard:
This Season 1 DVD set will be highlights of INTERVIEWS and MOMENTS from her show with MINIMAL Broadway performances. She can definitely get the clearances from soloists and it's easier to get them from vocal artists/bands. But each Broadway show is a case-by-case basis and they've been contacting [whoever] to get each performance that they want featured approved and cleared. Rosie has indeed been working on that for the past two years (off and on).
I. CAN'T. WAIT.
Here is the official press release for the dvd..

This makes me very happy, as I am a huge fan of Rosie. I will be more happy when we get some of that Broadway footage. My fingers are very crossed hoping for Patti LuPone and Peter Gallagher doing Old Fashioned Wedding.
If you click further down the link, it says that the DVD is 90 minutes and will cost $19.95. The HSN DVD will have an exclusive scrapbook. It will of course be sold elsewhere I'm sure. I'm thrilled that Rosie is finally doing this. I hope she does it for all the seasons, especially the 1999 - 2000 one. I was profiled on that one as part of the Chub Club.
I don't believe it will be sold on stores. It's an HSN exclusive.
Why is Joy Mandagno(sp) involved?
