Cy Coleman's best score just has to be On the Twentieth Century.

(And I also think that perfect as Sweeney Todd is, _Follies_ might just be better...)

The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say

our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about Gilbert and Sullivan!

While I do like PIRATES OF PENZANCE, I think I'm going to have to with THE GONDOLIERS.
