That's totally exciting. But I wonder why they are performing on the TODAY show so far in advance of the movie's release date? Doesn't that seem unusual?

According to the Broadway in Bryant Park schedule, Aug. 4 is the day devoted to dance and the Dancers Responding to Aids program. I wonder how it will all come together with the RENT cast?
And, here's another thought I had earlier today. I am assuming there is no ensemble in the film ( i mean in terms of singing), so the soundtrack album will be just the eight principals??

I'm pretty sure there's an ensemble. The Access Hollywood footage of La Vie Boheme indicated that there was an ensemble (possibly even larger than in the stage production) involved. Life Support and Rent would necessarily involve the ensemble. I don't know what's going on with Another Day... I hope the ensemble isn't Angel, Mark and Collins staging a coup against Roger along with Mimi...

I guess I didn't mean within the entire movie. I wasn't totally clear. I'll admit to only having seen RENT once in the theatre a few years ago, so I don't have as much knowledge to pull from. But for example, doesn't the whole ensemble come out for the finale? That might be awkward on film and would probably involve only the main characters. Although, I am not filmmaker and there are probably always ways to surprise a movie audience

Do we really think all of them will be there? I mean all 8? That would be awesome. I guess it's highly possible since they have TOday show earlier in the day, and they're probably going to want as much press as possible.
