WE haven't heard the last of Britney Spears. The poptart often pens missives on her Web site, but this time she's working on a doozy — to set the record straight on her life, loves and marriage to Kevin Federline. In an interview with Britain's OK! magazine, Spears says she's writing a "Letter of Truth: I Hope You Can Handle It" — which she plans to post on her fan site. "It was a life-changing letter for me, and I just want my fans to read it," she told the magazine. "It really states where I am in my life right now. It is making closure with a lot of things and I think this is my ultimate truth." The newlywed pop princess says she had some epiphanies after seeing the Broadway production of "Wicked" — the prequel to "The Wizard of Oz" that is sympathetic to the Wicked Witch of the West. Spears has worked so hard on her letter that she says, "I feel like I'm at Harvard." Follow that yellow brick road!

Ummm...did anyone else see the same version of WICKED that Britney saw? Is that where Glinda is hiding a pregnancy and runs off for a quicky wedding to make things good. Hmm.

Posted: 10/5/04 at 11:30amThis should be good. I don't remember but when Fiyero and Elphaba got together was he wearing a track suit with "The Pimp Daddy" written on the back and a baseball hat worn sideways?

I'd love to see Britney in 'Wicked,' just to see the show's uber geeks first wilt and then sponstaneously combust.
It would be more entertaining than any Broadway show could ever hope to be.

Ain't it the truth, JP?
Elphie, were it to happen, I'm sure you'd find some way to pick up the shattered pieces of your life and move on.
Crikey!

Posted: 10/5/04 at 12:15pmKind of random, but I was there the night Britney was there. She came back in just as the lights were dropping for the second act and EVERYONE turned around. I was embarassed for the people who turned around. I was all, "YOU'RE AT A SHOW, DARN IT!" And, yeah, Bad spelling in this post.

Actually Page Six picked this up from somewhere else. I saw it on Eonline at least 4 days ago at this link:

Posted: 10/5/04 at 1:43pmThanks, Trisky. I didn't personally need proof - I just thought it was interesting that the Wicked-ites who were decrying the veracity of Page Six when something unflattering was mentioned about Kristin (I believe it was a blind item at that) aren't all over this story. It is all about what you want to and don't want to believe as far as some inhabitants of this board are concerned.

re: The effects of Wicked on Mrs Federline#15
Posted: 10/5/04 at 2:24pmNow I would refuse a picture with her if I was in the cast.
re: The effects of Wicked on Mrs Federline#16
Posted: 10/5/04 at 2:44pmWe can't blame her for being impressed, people... she must have been blown away by the lip-syncing prowess of the cast members. I mean, they look like they're actually SINGING out there... without recordings... Could it be? A genuine LIVE performance?! What a strange, strange, inconcievable notion for Mrs. Federline to process.

Posted: 10/5/04 at 2:53pmI would rather see the show close than have her in the show. Who does she think she'll be? How could she even come close to the talent of KC,IM & JLT? They don't lipsync!

You guys, I totally can't believe you are all being so closed minded. A lot of us Wickans (that's Wicked + Fans, get it???) really support the idea of Britney being the new G(a)linda. First of all, because she would bring a lot of new people into the theater and make them fans of theater so that would be good for Broadway and good for musicals and good for Broadway musicals and for theater, right? A whole new generation of musical fans would be borned. PLUS, she has a background in musical theater from back when she understudied the original Amber Von Tussel in Reckless or Ruthless or Reckruth or whatever. I mean, come on you guys, that is where she got her start.
Britney would bring new blood into Wicked and a whole new fresh sassy attitude.
So, you can really help us Wickans out, as we have started an online petition to petition the producers of Wicked to hire Britney to play G(a)linda and we would really appreciate your support, so please sign the petition below.
If you do, you will be pop-u-lar with us!

"Now I would refuse a picture with her if I was in the cast."
And wouldn't THAT teach her a lesson about mature professionalism.

Posted: 10/5/04 at 3:23pmNamo, you are my HERO! I again have two words, DEBBIE GIBSON, although even she's not as stupid, untalented, messy and/or desperate. Although, they do both suffer from a major case of "Tanorexia"
