On itunes, etc the day after they announce she wins.

Sounds interesting. I'll buy it.
I will not only buy it but jam to it in my car.
Unless it's Rhiannon.
So...they can use that if "the note" gets to be too much? :P
Sorry...couldn't resist. It does sound cool.
Fantastic idea! I know I'll be buying it.

I hope the studio they use has a pitch corrector!

I'll be buying it to support, and to hear a different voice. I love LBB and I love the song...will I be a tough critic? I won't! :)

i love LBB but i am not buying the winner from the reality show single of the number. they could not do this with becky, annaleigh, haven, and now even kate rockwell thats what i am upset about.

anyone mind PMing me with info on the winner? I have a strong feeling about one of them, and I'm curious to see if I'm right.

What?
I think this a brilliant idea, because it gives a chance for the people who aren't able to go out to NY and see the winner listen to what she will sound like as the role. I mean it doesn't give a huge taste, but it gives us something. Here's a little bit of sarcasm, maybe MTV will tape the whole show again with the winner and air it! Lol. just a joke. although i wouldnt mind it if they did.
I assume she'll be singing along to the taped OBCR orchestra? If they're doing that, why don't they just dub her into the entire show and sell that on itunes?
I'm with you on your "what?" Eris. More like "wtf?". I really worry about the education in America, if only from this board.
I don't think her vocals are being dubbed into the existing recording. It seems brand new
Members of the Broadway company recorded the track with the secret leading lady last week.

I feel like I need a translator at times because I, sometimes, have no idea what people are trying to say.
I agree with you about the education system. Two years ago I passed the NJ PRAXIS II for English and Composition but the state wouldn't certify me to teach because my GPA was a hair too low. My father died my freshman year in college and my grades suffered because of it. I was able to pull them up but not enough to raise my GPA to the level the state of NJ would like it to be. They make it so hard to become a teacher that the really qualified people give up rather than jump through the flaming hoops.

The Broadway company would consist of actors, not orchestra. They could still be using the old orchestra track.
If they are recording NEW ensemble vocals, I don't see why they wouldn't re-record with the orchestra.
Usually when they dub into pre-existing tracks they do not use new ensemble vocals.

Unless they changed the original pitch of the song to tailor to the winner. It's a sad trend with this show. I wonder what Seth has to say about all this transposing down to make the songs easier.
"So Much Better" - the most difficult "power ballad" currently being sung on B'way?!?!?!?!?! Let me queue up to get THIS one. *snort*
Who said anything about not singing the song in its original key?

So are they still doing a 2-week clause in her contract?
It makes no sense to bring in an orchestra just for one track. She's lucky she got a new chorus, Brooke Shields didn't even get that!
Yankee, since a large percent of the Legally Blonde rumors have been proven wrong, I wonder if this too, is a myth. It seems odd if they're trying to sell tickets and keep the show open. While I think the two week contract may have just been a safety net, I'm sure, with their recent boxo lift from the reality show, the winner will be in the show much longer than 2 weeks. Especially if they're bothering to release a single for her.

I can't help but wonder if all this "two weeks" stuff has to do with somebody not fully understanding the Production contract and spouting it off like it's fact. Yes, in the Equity contract everybody is guaranteed two weeks pay after the closing notice is posted. If the producers choose to fire somebody, they are also guaranteed two weeks worth of pay. However, firing must come with just cause. Failing to sell tickets is not just cause.
However, I doubt that the producers of LB would have gone through all the expense of filming this reality show, as well as all the other expenses, i.e. rehearsal costs, promotional costs, recording the single of "So Much Better," if they only truly planned to guarantee two weeks worth of performances to the winner. That's nowhere near enough time to recoup those costs.
