In the production i saw the other night the girls didn't fly, act 1 ended with "Dirty laundry"..
Its odd to end act one with dirty laundry...
Wow this is a blast from the past
I remember going to see this at the prince of wales when my show closed so i finally had time to see it.
I was so excited as i LOVED the film but i have to say the musical was a bit of a let down. The show wassn't bad at all but my big problem was how cheap it looked and that shocked me with it been a C.M show.
The actors were all great and some of the music was fantastic and the flying scene was pretty good but everything just seemed a little bit weak like it was missing something.
A lot of people thought the show would close at drury lane as it's ticket sales really dropped but moving it to the prince of wales seemed to work for a bit.
The show was never really a big hit over here ,the papers were very divided when it came to reviews(more of them not really enjoying the show)so i was supprised it lasted as long as it did.
Im quite suprised it's coming to the states after all this time and i hope they have sorted the problem's out because you can tell there is a really great show in there thats dying to get out.
Apparently i heard the show lost quite a bit of money here so maybee that was the reasson it diddn't come over straight away?
I wish the show well though and im glad you Americans get the chance to see it.
xx
It was a college production for Melbourne Uni, so they did not have the budget for special effects or flying..
What first got me interested in this show was the review Variety gave it, when it first opened in London who ever the reviewer was they loved it.
I remember them saying act 2 need some work, but loved the 3 female leads..
