What are some notable interior or exterior renovations made to a theatre for a broadway show? For example; the Nederlander & Rent, Studio 54 for Cabaret

The 3 that stick out to me are the destruction of the Belasco boxes for Rocky Horror, the stadium seating for Holler at the Palace and what they did to the Lyric for Spider-Man. I don't recall anything that was done for Rent.

Would ragtime count? They converted two theatres into one in order to have that show. The new Amsterdam had a year long renovation before Aladdin got in. Those are two that come to mind.

I don't know if I would exactly call them renovations, but the Booth was at least decorated to look like a Victorian-era circus/sideshow for The Elephant Man.

In 2013 the Gershwin had a renovation where they expanded on the bathrooms and put in new seats. They did this for wicked 10th anniversary.

I think that you're missing the point.
The OP was asking about renovations regarding the production to the physical space to enhance the show experience.
Heres my my two cents: Not exactly a renovation, but Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson transformed the Jacobs during its run.

I guess it doesn't matter but I took renovation to mean actual changes to the premises and something beyond an extension of the set decoration into the house . (Many shows do this to some extent.)

Greaselightning, I get it now. To actually answer the question correctly now I would say cats, because the winter garden was actually transformed into a junkyard.

Didn't they renovate the Minskoff before The Lion King came in.
