Posted: 12/20/07 at 5:54pmWhen you wre a kid, or even at this age, was there ever some movie which you wanted to be adapted rfor the stage, or some actor to play a certain part? Or even some musical to be adapted into a movie? Maybe an idea for a set piece for a real or made up show? post those ideas here:

Ok, i'll start the ball rolling:
I remember I always wanted to see Wakko's wish, an Animaniacs movie using Broadway songs, as a stage musical on Broadway. I had tons of books full of costume ideas for the animated characters, plus a set idea for transitioning from a large castle to a villiage instantly which I have used in various other ideas.
I also always wanted to see an Into the Woods TV movie, which would be similar to the revival where the entire world was almost a large library.
Stupid, but nostalgic, no? What's your idea?

When I was a kid, I took a transcript of ALADDIN and put it in standard play format, with set descriptions and everything.
I was always the writer.

I wished South Park (especially an adaptation of the movie) would hit the stage.
I also thought Seth MacFarlane and Walter Murphy (the writer and composer, respectively, of Family Guy) should write an original musical. I still do.

I have always wanted to see them do a Broadway Version of the animated "Anastasia" Movie. The songs and story are wonderful, and when you watch it I feel like it just cries to be on stage.
I also totally can see Sutton Foster as Anya/Anastasia

Eponine3, I was JUST about to say that, it would be so wonderful!! Who would be Demetri?
Also, Nightmare Before Christmas would be great on stage I think.

the great gatsby would work well, i love to see it so old and timeless novel come to the stage.
& for the people who said Anastasia, same here. I could definitely see Sutton, or maybe Mara Davi? & for Dimitri what about Josh Strikland? He would prob be very good.
I would also LOVE to see Pocahontas, which i'm sure others would. Who could play Pochahontas and John Smith though? & Grandmother Willow?

I don't know, but I'd eagerly await yet another racially charged flame war!

Nightmare before Christmas, I could imagine all the design elements sweeping the Tonys.

I have no idea why but I would like to see the following properties as stage musicals:
The Dead Poets's Society
Arsenic and Old Lace
A Room With a View
To Kill a Mockingbird
Go figure

I'm still waitin' for Matt and Trey to get the idea to adapt South Park for the stage. And I want them to cram as many jokes from the TV series as possible like Chef's "I'm Gonna Make Love To You, Woman" and Cartman's rendition of "Come Sail Away" by Styx. And add in Timmy and Jimmy.
I really wanna see Ugly Betty onstage.
When I was young, I always wanted to see a Broadway version of every Disney movie I saw.

Posted: 12/22/07 at 4:48pmI've always wanted to see stage versions of Nightmare Before Christmas, Hercules (mostly because it would be fantastic casting the muses), and Cannibal the Musical (written by the South Park guys).

Oh, Cannibal! The Musical...love. As long as they keep the really horrible quality midi files for the songs!
