Seeing Shuffle Along Friday April 1 st $40 plus fees. A friend of ours saw an offering and my wife jumped on it. Seats are mid orchestra dead center . Not bad
Maybe if Hamilton does the same thing you and the Mrs. can go to that as well.

Happy you will be going.
It's a great deal that benefits a great cause.
After the altercation my wife had with a woman in the ladies room who castigated her for not seeing it , we will not be seeing it under any circumstances. Our interest in the big H is less than zero
For the love of God, stop. I can't take another thread that starts as one arbitrary topic and funnels into a bitter Hamilton resentment thread. Just stop.
Deep down he still wants to see it. That's the problem.
Someone else brought it in to the conversation and I answered it. If you have a problem with it being brought up initially, please go to the source. I answered a question. I did not bring it up .I have no interest in it so why people keep on goading me on it is beyond me. From now on, no matter what, if someone asks me anything about it I will politely say " no comment". I hope this meets with your approval.

I know you probably weren't blaming Mr. Roxy, but in all fairness to him he didn't even start talking about it this time.
No, I certainly didn't mean it directly at Roxy. Roxy, please know I take no problem with your posts and I really enjoy reading you on here. It's just the common practice of dumping on "the show" that ends up happening one way or another on various threads that has frustrated me.
when we have irrational prejudices (and we all do), sometimes the prudent course is to keep them to ourselves. There are 2-3 well known, popular and successful actors out there that I simply can't stomach. But I don't feel the need to tell everyone about my absolute, unconditional refusal to see any show they are in. I even walked out of Joe Allen's one night when I caught eye of one of them.

I would think that, apart from the price $ of 2 tickets to 'no comment', your wife should have told that Xx to Xx off and said 'my husband and I' will see what we want to see ,bXh'.
Toilet insults should not affect ones' choice in theatre programming---Over the years I've made some amazing discoveries at a urinal.

Lots of shows get dumped on whenever they're mentioned, and more pervasively than Hamilton: The Lion King, Cats, Rent, Memphis, et al. Why should Hamilton be immune?

Because more often than not, the criticism Hamilton is slung on here stems less from actual subjective artistic perspective and more from resentment/bitterness of the show's swelling juggernaut/phenom status. Don't remember where, but I read a thread featuring somebody who was pissed simply because he/she saw a Hamilton sign on a city bus. I'm not saying Hamilton should be "immune," I'm saying that when it's denunciated on here, it's often for unfounded reasons.

um... really? you are comparing the dislike of an INANIMATE OBJECT (a musical) with the dislike... or perhaps even hatred and disgust, based on your own admission... of HUMAN BEINGS?!?! what an absolutely ridiculous analogy. easily the most absurd post i have read since joining and no less coming from someone who pretends to know everything about the industry and consistently condescends on this board. yuck -- gross.
"Over the years I've made some amazing discoveries at a urinal."
Too much information!
But seriously, being castigated by a stranger in a restroom regarding anything -- is a reason to change what you would see? Overhear a woman say I despise Kelli O'Hara -- ooops, I'd better cancel my King and I tickets. Someone rants about how awful Stephen Sondheim is -- OK, guess I'll never see a Sondheim show again. Seriously -- anyone would take some stranger's comments so seriously?
way off base, JM 226. I am describing a dislike (not hatred and not disgust, by the way, except in the hyperbolic way we use those terms to describe performances we don't like) of a performer qua performer, not the human being that inhabits the performer's body. And I'll just let your apparent dislike, hatred and disgust for me just sit there ... Havaniceday
We are now at the point of Hamiliton Backlash Backlash! Looking forward to Hamilton Backlash Backlash Backlash!
