Thoughts on ANGELS

https://www.broadwayworld.com/viewcolumn.cfm?colid=29765

Get excited. I am SO happy for Jessica Grové!

Idk, the plot sounds kind of iffy. Then again, it's a bit too soon to judge. What do you guys think?

Good for Jessica! I've seen her in the choruses of multiple shows and have also heard solo performances from her and she's really talented. I hope this show isn't the flop I'm thinking it might be...

I know what you mean. I really want it to do well!

I can't wait to see Bob Cuccioli in this! I also like Jessica. Hopefully it will be great.

re: Thoughts on ANGELS

I have read articles where they say the show has it's eyes on Broadway, but nothing confirming that this show is actually coming to Broadway. So what's the deal?

I tend not to have "bad feelings" about shows because I want everything and everyone to succeed.

That being said I don't have the highest of hopes for this. But the thought of Bob Cuccioli as Lucifer has definitely peaked my interest.

I have a feeling it's going to do as well as Lestat did. Idk why, it just seems like one of those shows :/

re: Thoughts on ANGELS

Good or bad-This one is coming to Broadway. There is a ton of money behind this show, and the creatives and producers are hell-bent (forgive the pun) on bringing it in.
Other than that, did you enjoy the play Mrs Lincoln?

The songs they have on myspace are DEADLY!!! and the slow mo fighting might have been thrilling in the 40s but not today!

re: Thoughts on ANGELS

Sorry, even without having heard a note of the score and all the purported aerial effects, Paradise Lost has defied theatricalization (is that a word?). For example, I remember in Chicago in 1976, the Lyric Opera commissioned a new opera by Penderecki (sp?), which was duly performed. It REALLY bombed, lost tons of money and led to the eventual dismissal of then-General Manager, Carol Fox. I say, let's keep our hands off this one. Also, Paradise Lost has been many an undergraduate's living nightmare, so I don't think some people will be rushing to relive the experience.
