It's time to go. It was my first seeing this show and I was not impressed at all. It was very depressing in the theater, it was very empty and only two people were laughing. It's old and stale and time to close.
Brenda Braxton (Velma)- I guess this was her second to last show...? She was the best part of the show. I know people have said she was walking through the show but I thought she was great. She is a great dancer and her voice was really good. She was funny and was definitely trying to make it a good last day.
Melora Hardin (Roxie)- Really really bad. Her voice was incredibly annoying, her dancing was not to impressive and her acting was pretty bad. She almost ruined the show for me. I would have loved to see another Roxie.
Tom Hewit (Billy)- There is not much more you can ask for from Billy. He wasn't anything special.
Scott Davidson (Amos)- I feel so bad for whoever has to play Amos. He is really a very boring character. Mr. Cellophane is a pretty awful song in my opinion.
Ensemble- Great dancers, but they seem tired and they are just walking through it.
If I had paid full price I would be very upset and I would want some of my money back. I got a rush ticket, very good seat, front row, right orchestra.
2/5 stars. One for Brenda Braxton and the other for the band and ensemble.
Depressing. But maybe if there was a larger and more enthusiastic crowd they'd be inspired or something I don't know.
I totally agree that's it's time for it to go...and last time I saw it was three years ago.
You not liking a show does not merit a comment saying it has to close. It's mean spirited and ignorant.
I am seeing the touring production tomorrow evening when it opens here in Denver. I guess this is the last stop for Wopat before he joins the Broadway cast.
Saw it last night (Because it is now Wednesday) and It was fabulous! I saw the 1st tour and honestly, forgot it. Saw the movie and then last night. Wonderful!
Blaxx, are you going to attack me for every opinion I post on here? Just wondering.
First off, my comment is not ignorant or mean-spirited. It is honest. And based on a full review I wrote explaining, in depth, my thoughts on it. I am not about to repost my indepth thoughts on a performance I saw three years ago. Secondly, I like CHICAGO very much and was a fan of this production when it first opened. Who are you to assume I dont like the show? Where are you getting your information from?
Finally, I am entitled to my opinion. If you have a problem with it you can ask me to explain myself, look back at my old review, or ...oh, i dont know, not constantly attack, annoy, and badger me for my f*cking thoughts on Broadway shows. Seriously you may want to consider cutting down on the unwarranted bitchiness. Its not attractive.
