Ghee has a very good storyline but I didn’t really care for their 11 o’clock number, which I thought was a second-rate “Big, Blonde, and Beautiful.”
Nonetheless, a Lead Actor in a Musical win for Ghee would be a powerful statement, what with non-binary and transgender folk under attack all over the country.

ICYMI: there's a good amount of Tony Voters that think a headline of TONY Nominations are uh... egregious

Yeah the TONY* nominations have confused a lot of people on social media. imho I think it's fine for them to refer to it that as a tongue-in-cheek thing inside the article, but to have that in the headline is quite nearly misinformation.
I was surprised at the exclusion of Death of a Salesman in the Time Out nominations, and especially in the omission of Wendell Pierce (and Sharon D. Clark, though to a slightly lesser extent). Topdog/Underdog just wasn't a play that clicked for me but it seems to be very highly regarded amongst all the predictions/early award nominees so I assume it'll do well, but I'm not sure that they'll necessarily get both leads in the actual Tony nominations.

I also agree that this is Ghee's year and that they are the one to beat. Groban sings the role amazingly -- but we all knew that he would before he was announced -- he doesn't bring anything "new" to the role of Barker/Todd that we all haven't seen in previous productions. Platt's last win was too recent.
