Okay so in his recent post/article on Playbill.com Seth Rudetsky talks about how he worked with Tina Fey on an audition for The Baker's Wife for the ITW film. She didn't get the part, but Seth said that Tina was actually really good.
So what show could you see Ms. Fey doing?
Here is the article by the way. Just skip all of the boring Sutton Foster bs...

She plays Sarah Palin in the new Dr. Zhivago, the Musical. Her show stopping number is "I Can See Varyniko From My House".
Actually, she will hit Broadway just as the trend of making musicals out of 20 year old mediocre movies ends and making them out of TV shows starts. She will write and star in 30 Rock:The Musical and her show stopping number will be "Judah Freidlander's Lament".
Good one, Patash.
but seriously, folks, leaving aside that I have no idea what her singing is like, these might work:
Ruth in Wonderful Town, Trina in Falsettos, Fay in Anyone Can Whistle, Gabbi/Bobbi and Donna/Oolie in City of Angels, Paula in The Goodbye Girl, Gretta in The Dead, Ruth in High Spirits, Belle in Little Me, Winnifred in Once Upon A Mattress, Hildy and Claire in On The Town, Kay in Do Re Mi, Liza in Lady in the Dark.

Holy crap. She'd be an amazing and ideal Ruth in Wonderful Town.
I don't know if she can dance, but I can picture her in CHICAGO... I don't know as who, but in CHICAGO... lol.

She's too intelligent to play Roxie in Chicago...
She's be a good Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls
But really she's just too naturally funny for any leading role in a musical. i always would feel she'd be ready to burst out into a joke.
She would be great as Ruth Sherwood in WONDERFUL TOWN. Maybe somewhere she could do it in a concert version?
^^^ As long as she does it soon. The last thing WONDERFUL TOWN needs is for Ruth Sherwood to move to NYC at the age of 60 (and, yes, I've seen it done).

Tina Fey lost a role to Emily Blunt? This proves that the ITW movie isn't going off of name recognition alone.
