[TOS] just wasn't very good
In Your Opinion, just because you didn't like it doesn't mean other people don't. I didn't like The 39 Steps but I don't go calling people odd because I didn't like it. I accept that a lot of people like it and I don't care for it.

Insider, I don't really agree. It IS a piece of theatre. It may not be your cup of tea, but there are A LOT of people who really love the show. I respect your opinion, but I think you need to have a little more respect for the fans of the show.
I echo bwayrocks.
Die, vampire, die!
Here's hoping this isn't the end of [title of show]

"title of show is like flushing money down a toilet to watch four snarky idiots verbally masturbate themselves and each other for ninety minutes."
"Very well said, Insider2."
What exactly was well said? Do you like it when you read the words "Verbally masturbate"? Since nothing in his post was written well or "very well said", I'll assume you like seeing those words. So, Kalimba, this is for you:
verbally masturbate
verbally masturbate
verbally masturbate
verbally masturbate
verbally masturbate
verbally masturbate
verbally masturbate
verbally masturbate
verbally masturbate
You're welcome!

"there are A LOT of people who really love the show."
Not enough to keep it running obviously.
LOL
"LOL"
Because PASSING STRANGE was such a runaway hit right, PSLove302?
If your screenname were based on something like MY FAIR LADY or WEST SIDE STORY I'd put a little more stock into your opinion. You didn't like [TOS], that's fine. I personally thought PASSING STRANGE was one of the most boring self indulgent evenings I've ever spent in the theater, but I don't feel the need to go around bashing other shows. In fact, I don't bash any show because there are always fans to every show and telling them that their liking it is wrong is ridiculous. I get a kick out of how a thread that was started about the hope of keeping something that a lot of people enjoy alive has turned into a bashing of it. There are a lot of people here who honestly have nothing better to do.
The show should absolutely NOT move Off Broadway. The point isn't for the show to have a 5 year run. The point is the journey of the writer/performers. The show made it to Broadway. Thats the end of the story (unless it becomes a film).

I think it's just time to let go too. I mean, the "Passing Strange" fans have. (? Right?)

The story ends with them coming to Broadway. If they were to move it back, the story woul dhave to be adjusted and the stakes lowered.
Plus, it is doing %30 business in the Lyceum. Any producer would have to be crazy to think mounting another production is a good idea.
Isn't the entire [s] on youtube, anyway?
I would personally like to see if these guys have anything else in them. Die [TOS] DIE!
well if it closes permanently i can see this becoming remarkably good for amateur productions. As a director of such productions I must say the phrase "four chairs and a keyboard" does significantly lower the budget.
Yeah, because four chairs and a keyboard and inferior material is always so rewarding for an audience.
Trekkie, your response to me was pathetically unoriginal. I was agreeing with what Insider2 said. Was that so difficult for you to grasp?
The answer to the question posed by the thread is "No."
Hey, if the material and performer[s] are stong enough, I don't even think you need the four chairs OR the keyboard.
Does Kalimba do nothing else but find any mention of this show on the board, and respond bitterly toward it?
I really don't see how this show can spark such vitriol from people. It's probably one of the most well-meaning little shows I've ever seen.

And what brilliant piece of spawned your username, kalimba? That unoriginal ripoff of The Red Shoes? That ran for how long? At least [tos] made its own way.
