As if 2021 wanted to say, "You don't get away from bad **** that easily", we've started off with a horrible loss. TODD MICHAEL SMITH, an original member of HAIRSPRAY, one of only 2 performers who stayed in the show for the entire 6 year run, passed away this morning. A horrible loss to his family and friends. This beautiful dancer, and gorgeous human being will be missed.

So very sad. Had the pleasure of working with him a few years ago. He was truly “the nicest kid in town.” RIP.

How did Todd die? He was not very old.

SmoothLover - he lost a battle with cancer.

Todd was (and is) deeply loved and a wonderful talent. Very sad to see him gone so soon. My heart is broken.
