Tony Debate: Reed or Plimpton: Who Will Win?

For me I think Martha Plimpton will win because not only have I heard raves about her performance in Top Girls many people think she should have won for Utopia last year.

But then again I have also heard raves about Rondi Reed.

Your Thoughts?

I think Mary McCormack may win.

Oh my god I forgot about McCormack's hilarious performance. I think they actually might give it to her because August is going to sweep other categories. I think Boeing- Boeing will walk out with at least one award and I think they will give her the award if they decide not to give Mark Rylance the tony.

Boeing may win three awards - Revival, Actor and Featured Actress for McCormack. August will be just fine with Play, Actress, Director and Set, at the very least.
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

I think Reed will win because August will sweep. She gives an excellent performance in an excellent show. It's her award to lose at this point.

I'm predicting Mary McCormack to win -- she's got a lot more to do than the others, she's hilarious, and nobody who has seen the show will have trouble remembering the contribution she made to it.

Reed is nearly as likely to win because of all the "August" love, but she disappears for a long time in the show and also, voters will probably have seen "Boeing-Boeing" more recently.

I think Plimpton is being given more of a chance than she in fact has because she lost a tight race last year and because she's one of the hardest (and most) working actors on Broadway. But how many voters do you think have actually seen Top Girls?
