The Wedding Singer- 'It's Your Wedding Day'
Jersey Boys- Some sort of Medley
The Drowsy Chaperone- 'Show Off' w/ a man in chair intro
The Pajama Game- 'There Once was a Man...'
Sweeney Todd- 'A Little Priest'
Threepenny Opera- not sure, dont know the show...

any opinions?

that'd be great for TCP to perform "i'm here" though i think they should give a chance for Felicia p. Fields and Elisabeth Withers Mendes a chance to shine as well

I think Drowsy is gonna do "Toledo Suprise." It's unlikely they'de do a song that didnt show off most of the cast, since its such an ensemble show.

Sweeney Todd- 'A Little Priest'

Threepenny Opera- not sure, dont know the show either...

The Threepenny Opera: The Ballad of Mack the Knife of myabe the song Jim Dale sings in the show (Human's aren't smart enough?)since he is the only actor nominated

i think the pajama game is hard to call- since theres 3 nominees, so unless they go the way of drs and push forward the strongest option its a toss up between "there once was a man" and "hernando's hideaway" either way one nominee gets left off though.

3penny will do jim dale's solo number

drowsy- i wouldn't be entirely suprised to see "as we stumble along" since beth is their best bet for an acting win

wedding singer- its you wedding day

sweeney- not while i'm around (doesn't the staging figure around all 3 nominess for that song?)

jersey boys- the same damn medley as always

not particularly. It mostly features manoel, and patti has some speaking lines and a little singing, and michael just plays the guitar.

Before the drama desk awards, I wanted Sweeney to do A LITTLE PRIEST, just like it was on the DD's. Starting with, "Here we are, hot from the oven."

But now I think I'd want to see the opening ballad, and possibly going into PRIEST. If that could work.

THREEPENNY will probably not do Dale's song.

They may so a small sample of it...but they'll most likely do a song that features Lauper because they know her die-hard fans will tune in to see her perform anything.

color purple will definitely do the reprise of the title song.
jersey boys the medley.
wedding singer will do it's your wedding day.
drowsy i hope does an intro of the man in chair into toledo surprise.

the revivals i'm not as sure of... but i guess i'd like to see sweeney do the ballad and pajama game do hernando's hideaway. 3penny i have no idea.

I do not think that they will do Show Off because that song is mostly about Sutton's character. I mean The Drowsy Chaperone is an ensemble show, in which they would probably do a number with the entire cast in it...no other than Toledo Surprise or Wedding Bells. The only reason they wouldn't do this number is maybe because of Sutton's blocking in it, kind of where she is just standing there, but I think that could be easily fixed. It would be very funny for someone to come out and announce that the next performance would be from TDC and then the lights go down like they did at the beginning of the show for like ten seconds and then Bob starts just talking in the dark. But then they would have to put the part with him playing the record in there, because of the part where the record skips or what not and that is translated through the song and choreography. I don't know...I guess they could just do "Wedding Bells" because then it would introduce the entire cast, and that might be a better move.

So my basic prediction is for the performance to start from (in terms of the show) when the lights go down to start the show until the end of Wedding Bells. I think that might even be better than Toledo Surprise. Any doubts?

As for Sweeney, I would love to see "Not While I'm Around", but that would never happen in a million years. I guess we will either be seeing "God That's Good" or "The Ballad of Sweeney Todd"

I have not seen Threepenny or Wedding Singer

Jersey Boys-- Probably "Oh What A Night"

The Pajama Game- Hernando's Hideaway probably leading into Hey There reprise POSSIBLY probably not...just my thought.

c) musically it's a very weak song, not something they want to show off.

Sweeney Todd--God, That's Good! (Patti plays the Tuba and the song features all three of the Tony nominated actors)

Pajama Game--Once a Year Day (The whole cast is onstage and Kelli and Harry get solos at the beginning plus it shows off Kathleen Marshall's choreography)

Wedding Singer--It's Your Wedding Day (Very high energy, features Stephen Lynch and cast)

Jersey Boys--Sherry, Big Girls Don't Cry, Walk Like a Man (Well known, fun, Walk Like a Man has a good finish)

Color Purple--No idea (I'd love to see Push Da Button because it's a fun number, but La Chanze is hardly in it)

Drowsy Chaperone--Again, no idea (Show off is fun, Toledo Surprise is fun but neither makes good use of Man in Chair's commentary....hmm...this one's a head scratcher)

Threepenny Opera--I don't care, as long as they don't do Song of the Extraordinary Crimes of Mac the Knife.....I didn't like thier rendition AT ALL! Updated On: 5/27/06 at 10:02 PM

god That's Godd is a good number that does feature the three nominated actors, but pople who have never seen the show might not know what's going on.

That's true wonderful wizard...people unfamiliar with the show will have no idea what's going on...especially the way it's staged. So now I'm changing my prediction to The Ballad of Sweeney Todd....it's pretty cool when Sweeney comes out of the coffin!

If I hear another medley from JERSEY
I will slit my wrists
which will make a lot of people on this site Happy.
(Both the medley and my bloody wrists)
I think shows should choose a number and just freakin' do it
No Medleys PLEASE!!!!
