Look if you guys dont like Jersey Boys turn off your TV while they are on. You dont have to talk bad about what they do.
Actor's are acting for us and all we can do is say bad things about them?
Maybe Drowsy will do "I am Aldolpho!"
since it could feature 3 nominees
well I switch Channels when I see them and there they are again!
I love actors and glad they are working
But show some Drama from the show
Not those guys workin' harder than they should hafta.
I feel for their vocal chords.
Diana DiMarzio told me at the stage door that weeney is performing a medley of "greatest hits" at the Tonys.
I bet you that, like previous years, the winners of the awards are extremely featured in the performances. There's no use of performing "I'm Here" if LaChanze doesn't win, & Sofia Fields wins for best featured actress. In that case, Ms. Fields will be featured in the performance. Look at the previous winners & performances. Not all shows win, and in that case they feature a fun & entertaining number or numbers.
I can predict winners from the performances. I have for the past couple years.
BUT isn't it up to the show itself what song(s) they perform?
Not the Tony producers. So if the producers/director of the musical don't know if they have the winner or not, how will they know to showcase them?
It does not make sense.
i agree with ljay889. When CAROLINE OR CHANGE performed, it wasTonya Pinkins by herself performing. She didnt Win. Anika Noni Rose DID win but was not featured in the performance. Also, its Felicia Fields, Sofia is her character's name

I have no doubt that whatever The Drowsy Chaperone does, it will include a segment with the Man in Chair. For Spelling Bee, the great strength of it was the book, and they recognized that at the awards last year when they actually did spoken lines. I think the same will go for the big MIC in Chaperone's performance, which I assume would be Toledo Surprise, or even Wedding Bells.
Couldn't Wedding Singer also do Saturday Night in the City?
That's a number with the whole cast in it and it has the whole flashdance water thing to please the audience.

What? Seriously? Greatest hits of...what? That seems...not right. Was that a joke?
I am listening to Sirius Satelite radio and Michael Cerveris is on and also said they would be performing a Sweeney medley that would include "The Worst Pies In London", "My Friends", and "The Ballad of Sweeney Todd" (closing).
Heh, I was just about to post that keggss.
I was listening to the same broadcast on Sirius and you beat me to the post!
He also mentioned that Patti will not be playing the tuba, but the cast will be performing the number completely live with no "back-up tracks."
Love my Sirius - and Seth!!
...and Michael!

MY FRIENDS sure is an interesting choice. Suprised no PRIEST. Atleast we got that on the Drama Desks.

If they wanted to feature Michael they should do Epiphany
It would probably be to confusing for people who don't know about the show if it went from The Worst Pies in London into Epiphany.
Michael said something about not doing Priest because they did it already at Drama Desks.
I think drowsy should do "Show Off" and then have "Beatrice" upstage "Jane" and do "As We Stumble Along". With commentary at the beginning from Man in Chair.
Ps. there is no song called Wedding Bells in The Drowsy Chaperone it is called Fancy Dress.

If they did "Once A Year Day" they would have to close the show for that night, because it features most of the cast. IF they can do that, that is.

They don't have shows the night of the Tony Awards anyways, so they wouldn't be closing any show.
