Does anyone have a list of shows and which numbers they are performing tomorrow? Sorry if there is already a thread on this (if there is, I couldn't find it!) :)
There's definitely a million threads on this topic...and if you search playbill.com you'd probably find the list. I know I did yesterday.
Um, as far as I know:
Grey Gardens: The Revolutionary Costume for Today
Spring Awakening: A Medley of some sort
Curtains: Show People
Company: Being Alive
110 in the Shade: Raunchy
A Chorus Line: One
I don't think The Apple Tree is performing, and I've no idea about Mary Poppins.
MP is doing "Step in Time" and "Anything Can Happen".
Gee, what a dull program. I'm still looking forward to it though.
I wasn't going to say that, dramarama2, but I kind of agree. I'll still be glued to it, though!!
I'd like to look forward to it, curse being stuck in England! Think the ceremony may find its way to a torrent site somehow? *ahem*

The Revolutionary Costume for Today? Oh gosh, why not Another winter in a summertime?

I am looking forward to Raul Esparza very much....

The last thing I heard was Fantasia is also going to perform The Color Purple, but I don't know if that turned out to be false or not
Fantasia is performing.
It's "Another Winter in a Summer TOWN," just so you know.
And I can't believe that MARY POPPINS is performing "Anything Can Happen." It's an embarrasingly bad song.

Fantasia, last I heard, is performing "I'm Here." It's to honor the Atlanta theater where the show started (which is getting a special honor tomorrow night).
I don't see why they just don't do "Step in Time" but apparently they wanted to do one of the songs written for the stage show as well one of the familiar songs from the film.
Plus it will allow Tony nominee Rebecca Luker to do something.
I'm thrilled that Fantasia is singing "I'm Here." Her rendition is perfection.
But munk, jelly *isn't* jelly 'til you set it!!!
*shudders* As long as 'Step In Time' gets lots of lovin'. I always hated the song in the movie, but I absolutely love love love what they did with it for the stage.

I need to see Fantasia. She is so amazing.
WHAT?!
The staging and choreography in the film is one of the most brilliant dance numbers ever committed to celluloid.
The possibilities with that song are endless, and Bourne's failure to make anything interesting come out of it is argument enough for why he should loose the Tony. Bland, bland, bland.
You can wave your staging and choreography and technical talk around all you like, but nothing is strong enough to overcome childhood trauma. I... may or may not have had sleepless nights because I thought chimney sweeps would break into the house and trash the place... <_<
Can't say I've watched the film in years, but I do remember the whole 'Step In Time' number scared the bejesus out of little me. I was a wuss.
MARY POPPINS as a whole used to scare me.
Used to.

I heard that Spring Awakening will end their medley with the bla bla blas and scream totally ****ed, but the ****ed will be bleeped for tv viewers. I understand the censorship, but I do feel that it goes against a lot of what SA stands for.

Step in Time is much better than it is in the film. At least it has a message now...similar to one of my favorite poems "The Chimney Sweeper" by William Blake.
However, I will admit its film staging is spectacular.
