Here's a list of the shows that performed tonight at the Allen Room for the Tony Preview on CBS:

Sunday in the Park with George - Finishing the Hat
Xanadu - Do You Want My Love?
The Little Mermaid - Part of Your World
Cry-Baby - Screw Loose
Passing Strange - (I'm not sure which song it was . . . it was sung by Stew, Daniel Breaker and a woman)
South Pacific - Bali Ha'i
A Catered Affair - Our Only Daughter
Grease - Sandy/Hopelessly Devoted to You

I am surprised South Pacific went with Bali Ha'i. Also, since when is "Do You Want My Love?" a song in Xanadu?

Thanks for sharing.

Is Young Frankenstein the only new musical that didn't perform then?

re: Tony Preview Performances

Re: "Do you want my Love"- It was a song in one of the early workshops. The producers decided to show off different material by the same writers, and leave the actual stuff in the show for the Tonys. I don't know if that was a smart move, but it is an interesting one.
David walked into the valley With a stone clutched in his hand He was only a boy But he knew someone must take a stand There will always be a valley Always mountains one must scale There will always be perilous waters Which someone must sail -Into the Fire Scarlet Pimpernel

Yes, seems like it... I find that so strange. They also didn't perform at the Easter Bonnet Competition (ok, Roger Bart and Megan Mullally presented). Aren't these type of performances an excellent way of promoting a show? Does anyone know why YF passes for them?

I wish In The heights did In The Heights or 96,000. Oh well it is still a good song.

Hmm. Interesting choices.
I guess they're saving 'the good stuff' for the actual TONY telecast on 06.15 ... which makes A LOT of sense when you think about it. Either way, the shows are 'getting out there' and plugging away with performing.

re: Tony Preview Performances

So Passing Strange is back in the show? Last I heard they weren't performing but I haven't been keeping up. I wish we were getting the broadcast here in Denver. So far I don't see it listed. Seems to me that if CBS wants to boost ratings, this show would be broadcast around the country. Just my thoughts.
