according to this 2013 NY Times article, the two lead producers get a free Tony Award and the other producers have to buy one for $2,500. I'm not sure if the specifics have change since then.
The General Partners (aka Lead Producers, the first 4 names for this show) are the only ones doing the actual work of producing the show. The other people are Limited Partners, aka Co-Producers: investors or money-raisers who get to go to the opening night, receive sales reports, can attend a marketing meeting every few months, and a few other perks. But all will win Tonys.
One could argue that the Tonys need to adopt a system like the Oscars: To be awards-eligible, the individual must prove they had "significant decision-making authority over a major portion of the producing functions across the four phases of a motion picture’s production." However, raising money for Broadway shows is tough! A risky, expensive show like Hadestown or Evan Hansen or The Prom might not get financed otherwise. So there are pros and cons, but if it allows more shows to be produced, then that's a good thing.
