Liam Oh from the Netflix series Boots and the Chicago Shakespeare production of The Notebook played Nick in this workshop! I’m a big fan of his, so I hope he continues with the show.

Little Bear and Liberation have both struggled, Liberation even more, making it harder than ever for new plays to find audiences. And both of these had stunning receptions. Are starry revivals of the canon warhorses the only successes? It's frightening."<

2025-2026 Broadway Season Dec 12

Either 30 million budgets with high running costs or limited runs that make no sense financially. The community that finances the shows and takes all the risks are being asked to do financial models that make no sense. Not to mention the lack of jobs for the musical community this season. Where are the smartly budgeted and developed shows and why are they not getting

Trump takeover of DC Dec 3

Ultimately, I think the Kennedy Center’s reputation has been badly damaged, and that damage will linger for a long time. Even if all of these recent changes were reversed and things appeared to return to “normal,” the staff and artists working there would still be living with the knowledge that their jobs and programming can be instantly politicized. There’s now a clear precedent that a sitting president can reshape the institution’s leadership simply because the

A good number of them are holdovers from the film soundtrack/score. Seems like Blaemire and Kitt will be providing new/additional material.

There’s currently a workshop happening. Looks like they’ve started completely from scratch; there’s an entirely new cast and creative team.
Kathleen Marshall directs/choreographs, Book by Nick Blaemire, Music and lyrics by Blaemire, Tom Kitt, Van Hughes, John Legend, Mark Mancina, Bonnie McKee, Luke Reynolds, and Chris Trapper.
Talia Suskauer and Matthew James Thomas play the parents, Lyla and Louis.

I think Stranger Things closes around the 1 year mark, before they have to do any major recasting.
I’m curious how much Wicked saved on advertising expenditures over the past month or so as the film rolled out into cinemas.

Paddington Bway Transfer Possible? Dec 1

I’m really curious what the true cost of Matilda would be if it were to open today. I seem to recall it being reported to cost 18 million and that was in 2012, or 25 million in today’s terms. The 35-40 million figure seems nuts to me.
Similar to Matilda, I could see this working well at the Shubert, unless they’re dead set on an ATG house.

Kevin McCollum always plays the long game with his shows. He’ll keep this going, even at a loss, just in the hopes of scoring some Tony noms and wins.

They were not credited during the Chicago engagement and browsing through the programs of engagements of the show since LA they have not retained a producers credit. Anyone have info on what this relationship between the original producers and Warner Bros entailed and why they received a producers credit for LA, but not for any other engag

I feel like the stop clause was used here… Bill Damaschke is a deep pocketed producer and would’ve kept it running through, at least, the Tony nominations.
