South Pacific should do the reprise of Some Enchanted Evening into Wonderful Guy.
I feel that it would be good to do Together for Gypsy because it shows off all three of them. But they should really show off Patti, so I think they will do Everything's Coming.
I'd like for them to do those songs from Grease as well.
Considering that YTOTIW was the point at which the general mediocrity of the current revival dissolved into utterly awful community theater, I really hope they avoid it, but... well, it's Grease, so sadly, that won't happen.

Careful mentioning community theater. Oftentimes community theater is better than the Broadway versions.

I agree on "Everything's Coming up Roses" for GYPSY. It does seem they want to keep Patti's "Rose's Turn" something you have to buy a ticket to see. In fact, if they're smart, that's what they'll do: I'm not sure Patti's version would work well out of context.
Others:
IN THE HEIGHTS: "In the Heights"
PASSING STRANGE: "Amsterdam"
CRY-BABY: (Haven't seen it yet)
XANADU: Medley
GREASE: Medley
SUNDAY: "Sunday"
GYPSY: See above
SOUTH PACIFIC: "Dame" or a medley
And I'm not fond of medleys ever, really. For the short time the shows are given, the medleys always feel very rushed. XANADU would be best doing as much of a book scene as possible, as that is it's strength.
Well, am I the only one that thinks "Carnaval del Barrio" would be a wonderful song for the Tonys for IN THE HEIGHTS ?
I love that song, but I can't picture them doing it on the Tonys.
I have a feeling they'll do the opening number because it showcases all three nominees (although briefly).

I just got done listening to the awful Amsterdam song from Passing Strange. If this song is a inklling of more to come from this show than I am not impressed.

Just got done watching clips from Cry Baby and it looks and sounds great
Wasn't there talk a while back about having performances from many current shows even if they were not nominated or new? Anyone remember that?
IN THE HEIGHTS will perform the title song but I would be SOOO happy if they surprise us and do "96'000." I love the title song but from what I've seen in clips, the "96'000" choreography and staging looks fantastic, and I really like the demo version--especially the girls' parts, Karen Olivo sounds great in the demo.
SUNDAY will wanna perform the title song too, but I feel they should do some kind of medley. Though those rarely work.
I wish XANADU did "I'm Alive" into "Evil Woman" into the title number.
GYPSY will do "Everything's Coming Up Roses" I'm sure. Though I think they should try to incorporate Laura's stripping scene.
SOUTH PACIFIC might be able to pull off a medley, start with "Bali Hai" go into "Nothing Like a Dame" and end with something else...can't think of anything.

Please NOT the medley from PS. It went over like a lead balloon on the View...
Yeah, I'm listening to 96,00 now and it is the clear choice, maybe Lin can mix something up and do a combo. It shows the dancing, lighting, sets, Lin and Robin, Olga wouldn't have much of a role in any song. It obviously the best song! Bring it on 96,000!

I would LOVE to see 'move on' from SITPWG.
jackson, everyone confuses "Amsterdam" for the song "Keys" - where the entire cast, band, and audience is rockin' out to the chorus. It's understandable considering "Amsterdam" comes riiiight before "Keys" during the performance. I consider it my job to point it out to others. By all accounts, the company will more than likely perform "Keys" at the TONYs.

Not sure which one I watched. I found it on Youtube lol

Together would be not be a good number to market the show, however awesome it may be. I'm a fan of doing Everything's Coming Up Roses or Some People into Let Me Entertain You (strip) or the strip into Rose's Turn.
Here's my 2 cents:
In the Heights: What I want to Hear: Paciencia y Fe (my FAVORITE SONG)
What they'll do: Title song
Passing Strange: What I want to Hear: I like the beginning but I know it doesn't work contextually, so I'll say Keys/Amsterdam combo
What they'll do: I think they'll do Amsterdam
Xanadu: What I want to Hear: Evil Woman! Please, do Evil Woman into Xanadu or something.
What they'll do: Something into Xanadu (they might do Strange Magic, but Evil Woman gets such a great response)
Cry Baby: What I Want to Hear: Screw Loose (I liked Alli Mauzey's performance)or You Can't Beat the System-that gets stuck in my head
What they'll do: A Little Upset into Nothing Bad's Ever Gonna Happen Again
Gypsy: What I Want to Hear: I'd like Together to showcase the three leads
What they'll do: Everything's Coming Up Roses
South Pacific: This show is so amazing that I'd have a hard time picking, but I'd say Some Enchanted Evening/A Wonderful Guy
What they'll do: Some Enchanted Evening into something
Sunday in the Park With George: What I want: Children and Art/Sunday finale
What They'll do: Sunday
Grease: What I want: We Go Together if I have to choose
What they'll do: You're the One that I Want

I actually think Sunday in the Park with George will do Putting it Together...
Sunday will want to showcase both stars. Putting it Together doesn't do that really.
While it probably won't happen, a GYPSY medley would be ideal.
Let's just have 'Gypsy' do The Dressing Room scene into "Rose's Turn".
Perfect, methinks.
(*Albeit impossibly unlikely*)
A GYPSY medley would be an awful idea.
They only have about 3.5 minutes for their performance. Dressing room into Rose's Turn would never work.
That's why EVERYTHING'S COMING UP ROSES is perfect. The song runs 2 minutes and 30 seconds, and they can even include some of Patti's opening lines.
Exactly - I know it wouldn't work but it'd still be incredible.
I guess I just need to get myself back to NYC to see the show *le sigh*
PS - I want me a shirt from my sig...
I pray to God that Patti does "Rose's Turn", but sadly I have to agree that it would not make sense, since it is such an unexpected torrent of emotion that they need to keep it under wraps. If they do it on the Tonys it will be all over the internet in seconds in various versions with varying quality. It is such perfection that they will probably save it for paying customers. It would make me so happy though to see her perform it. But less people would buy the cow, if they got the milk already on the Tonys.
