On the Dress Rehearsal Live Blog on BWW, they're keeping the opening number a secret and then put this about the "Company" number up toward the end of the rehearsal:

12:43 PM - Now an actress making her Broadway debut in CHICAGO, the still-stunningChristie Brinkley introducing the ALL-STAR cast of COMPANY re-united on the Tony stage to perform 'Side By Side'.

-----

Any chance that the BOM "Hello" opening number will come to pass? That would be sweet.

No "Hello." Though the opening number is a good one!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

The opening number is very entertaining, though very typical of NPH's awards show repertoire.

Hugh Jackman's appearance is a highlight.

BOM's piece seems so out of place for an awards performance. Is it Parker/Stone/et al trying to maintain the mystery about the show, revealing as little as they can? (For the same reason they haven't done awards shows, etc.) Cheapness for not wanting to pay the whole cast to come?

Why'd they let Spiderman perform? And ugh, how boring, is that really the best they can do?

Company's performance was REALLY sloppy. I doubt they had run it more than once backstage since they did it at Lincoln Center. Hopefully they tighten that up by tonight.

All in all, a little dry, and they seemed a bit constrained by the space relative to Radio City, but it will hopefully be a good show tonight.

The Company Facebook page posted this sneak peek at the cast at the dress rehearsal:

It does seem like the BOM people picked the number least likely to give away anything about the plot. I wonder if the ensemble will be on stage singing the chorus or if it'll just be Rannells?? Two hours to go!!

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

That's too bad about "Hello." I thought the concept was super clever and really funny.

It's ok though as I, for one, am a big fan of NPH-style opening numbers. I think they're highly entertaining. I'm excited.

Here's hoping we can actually hear it.

No, it's just Rannells.

I still don't understand why Spider-Man performed, and it was such a dull number. It certainly wouldn't make me want to see the show.

Loved Neil Patrick Harris in all his numbers!
