But if all the Spelling Bee guys are considered featured, as well as Denis O'Hare (though with his billing it could go either way), that will lead to a very crowded featured actor in a musical category, too!

"Sweetie, you know I love Raul. But he didn't give a Tony worthy performance this year."

That's how I felt about John Lithgow in Sweet Smell of Success. I'm still scratching my head on that one.

What's with that long list, Margo? I think we both know who the winner will be.
Mandelbaum mentioned O'hare as a Lead Actor possiblity, but I'd imagine that role is featured, since he doesn't really come on until the end of the first act. Who knows though.

I predict (not that I think it is how it should play out)

Butz
Lithgow
Azaria
Curry
Hyde-Pierce

So basically, I think only 2 musicals will be represented in the lead category.

Not that I care about this show but-did they ever rule who was lead and featured in Brooklyn?

I'm willing to predict in the featured actor category:

Borle
Folger
Jbara
Kudisch
Morrison

This is fun. I feel like Tom O'Neill. But without the scary Skeletor face. THANK GOD FOR CARBS!

Yes, Matt, I know, I know........
As long as Gary Beach isn't nominated, I'm happy.
I hope he is nominated. I'm looking forward to seeing him and Goulet tomorrow night. This will be my 8th time seeing LA CAGE. (I can't get enough!)
I can see O'Hare being nominated for featured.
I'm sure O'hare will be nominated, the Tony Awards lurv him. I have never been that impressed with his work. I thought his work in Assassins was extremely overpraised,

Both John McMartin in the original and Michael Rupert in the Debbie Allen revival (who won) were placed in the Featured catgory as Oscar in Charity.
Critics love him...I don't care for him.

Do you think Morrison will be featured? I would consider him a lead...I'd also add Mark Price to that featrued list as a possibility, he's been getting some good word of mouth in All Shook Up.

I would love to see Borle and Fogler get nods, two of my favorite performances this season.

I don't know about O'Hare as featured, though. They've added a song for him and he gets the bow right before Charity, and then bows again with her.

Dan Fogler better get a nomination. I hope a lot of the BEE cast don't cancel each other out.

I'm almost positive Morrison is considered featured.
Dan Fogler and Jesse Tyler-Ferguson best be nominated!!!
And Matt Morrison too!

Margo - I am very curious as to who you and matt think are going to win. Who do you think?
I worked on a play once where three of the actresses were nominated in the same category - and one of them walked away with the Tony. So this "cancelling each other out" theory is given too much credence. Doesn't always happen.

		     			Musicman117...
I think there's very little doubt who Matt believes will win the Featured Actor Tony Award this year.

I think Butz is a lock for Lead. Not sure about Featured -- maybe Fogler? We ALL know who Matt thinks will win Featured.
I don't think it really has any sort of merit. Everyone said last year "Kristin and Idina will cancel each other out and Tonya will win." Bullsh*t, that's a totally dumb theory.
So help me, if any of the abominable Spamalot actors wins over Norbert Leo Butz, I will completely lose faith in humanity.
How is Tom in Glass Menagerie considered a supporting role? Its HIS story for god's sake.
I don't know. I don't think he'll be nominated anyway - in either case, so it doesn't really matter.

And yes - if ANYONE wins for SPAMALOT, I'm going to be angry.
