But if all the Spelling Bee guys are considered featured, as well as Denis O'Hare (though with his billing it could go either way), that will lead to a very crowded featured actor in a musical category, too!
Dan Fogler Jesse Tyler-Ferguson Jose Llana Denis O'Hare Matthew Morrison Gavin Creel Michael Benjamin Washington Marc Kudisch Phillip Bosco Gregory Jbara Christian Borle Christopher Sieber Roger Bart Cleavant Derricks Danny Gurwin

What's with that long list, Margo? I think we both know who the winner will be.

Mandelbaum mentioned O'hare as a Lead Actor possiblity, but I'd imagine that role is featured, since he doesn't really come on until the end of the first act. Who knows though.
I predict (not that I think it is how it should play out)
Butz Lithgow Azaria Curry Hyde-Pierce
So basically, I think only 2 musicals will be represented in the lead category.
Not that I care about this show but-did they ever rule who was lead and featured in Brooklyn?

I hope he is nominated. I'm looking forward to seeing him and Goulet tomorrow night. This will be my 8th time seeing LA CAGE. (I can't get enough!)

I'm sure O'hare will be nominated, the Tony Awards lurv him. I have never been that impressed with his work. I thought his work in Assassins was extremely overpraised,
Both John McMartin in the original and Michael Rupert in the Debbie Allen revival (who won) were placed in the Featured catgory as Oscar in Charity.

Do you think Morrison will be featured? I would consider him a lead...I'd also add Mark Price to that featrued list as a possibility, he's been getting some good word of mouth in All Shook Up.
I would love to see Borle and Fogler get nods, two of my favorite performances this season.
I don't know about O'Hare as featured, though. They've added a song for him and he gets the bow right before Charity, and then bows again with her.
I worked on a play once where three of the actresses were nominated in the same category - and one of them walked away with the Tony. So this "cancelling each other out" theory is given too much credence. Doesn't always happen.

I think Butz is a lock for Lead. Not sure about Featured -- maybe Fogler? We ALL know who Matt thinks will win Featured.

I don't think it really has any sort of merit. Everyone said last year "Kristin and Idina will cancel each other out and Tonya will win." Bullsh*t, that's a totally dumb theory.
