Did you see Denis O'Hare in Take Me Out?
Assassins?
He is a brilliant performer, a nice guy and a great interview.
I hope he gets a nomination. He is great in Charity. But nothing compares to his performance in "Take Me Out" his passion moved me. He is outstanding.
Just don't bring up politics!

I've seen Denis O'Hare in everything he's done recently.

He was fantastic in TAKE ME OUT - but he had the same "gay" attitude, expressions, and physicality in that that he used in ASSASSINS. I thought his performance in ASSASSINS was embarrasing, and I'm just afraid that in CHARITY he will be too gay.

One of my friends didn't think he was, and another friend didn't believe he was in love with Charity because he was so gay. I said it in another thread - he's quickly becoming Nathan Lane/Kristin Chenoweth. He found something that worked once and was awarded for - so now he just recycles it. Kristin was the same in WICKED as she was in CHARLIE BROWN, and Nathan has been the same in everything he's ever done - stage and film. It's tired, and it doesn't work on me.

Eponine, the line from Knights of the Round Table, in the movie anyhow, is "We're knights of the round table/We dance whenever we're able". Thebestshowshavetransvestites, randomly wherever an inane piece of information is needed! *disappears in a whirl of b-rated smoke*
I absolutely LOVE Gary Beach - but he just doesn't turn in a Tony-worthy performance in La Cage. In fact, only Davis and the Cagelles did. As for Spamalot - I don't think any of them are actually 'leads' in the old fashioned sense. They're all supporting.

I remember reading about Dick Van Dyke being nominated - and winning I believe - the Tony for his 'featured' performance in Bye Bye Birdie. Nobody was nominated as a 'lead' for that show.

im not particularly surprised by the rulings tho im not sure it works to spamalots benefit.

I love spamalot and am happy that Azaria and Pierce are able to be nominated since in my opinion they are better than curry. There i said it. I think that show has atleast 4 acting nominations as a lock (2 actor, Ramirez, and Borle) Here's my predictions for most of the major categories. these don't reflect my actual opinions for some (you'll see in actor)

actor Musical
Azaria

Well, I definately agree that this is the BEST shot Norbert's had... and I really hope he wins. Dunno about all THREE Spamalot men being nominated, but if they are, I'm joining the "they'll likely cancel each other out" camp. None of them have REALLY had the kind of buzz people like Lane and Menzel had. And John Lithgow already HAS his Tony, so, well... Got my fingers crossed for Norbert.

Norbert should have this one, no matter what Spamalot guys are in it.

I like to sing and dance Alot"

don't count Sieber out for Sup.
He is very Well Liked and very talented
Buttons is so cute

"Lithgow, Pierce, and Azaria are all extremely good actors, but none of them are strong singers (I don't think Azaria even had an entire song to himself -- I think he only sang about half of the Lancelot song) and none of them can dance AT ALL."

Lithgow won for Sweet Smell of Success, so.....

As much as I love Spamalot, I have a hard time with this ruling. Yes, Hank Azaria and David Hyde Pierce are top billed, but I'd have issues with giving them leading actors nominations. Tim Curry, yes, but I think everyone else in that show should be considered featured.

I hope this ruling doesn't edge out the other incredibly worthy potential nominees....Norbert and Raul especially.

Who is this Raul everyone is talking about, lately?
		     			where u been Buttons?
Raul Esperza
from Taboo
I think he may not get a nom this year cause the category is so crowded and most people think he is miscast in "CHITTY"

I guess I don't keep a close eye on the stars of Taboo... :-p.

And I don't really know anything about CCBB.

Raúl Esparza was nominated for a Tony last year for Taboo. He was also the Emcee in Cabaret, Riff Raff in the revival of The Rocky Horror show and Jonathan in tick...tick...Boom.
		     			Musical Actress:
Vicky Clarke*
Sherie Renee Scott
Sutton Foster
(Fourth spot is a toss up)
if Applegater can't get a Nom they are in big trouble
I'd give her one just for saving the show
Eden Espinoza (if the show had benn better)

Musical Actor:
Norbert Butz*
John Lithgow
David Hyde Pearce
(fourth is again a toss up)
Tom Hewitt if that show had been any good
Tim Curry
Raul if he gets good reviews
Michael Arden in PIPPIN (oh wait that was a dream)
I'm actually thinkin Cheyenne Jackson but have they ruled what category he is in?

Featured Actress Musical:
Sara Ramirez*
Joanna Gleason
Maureen McGovern
Celia Kennan-Bolger
Jan Maxwell

Featured Actor:
Jesse Tyler Ferguson*
Mark Kudish
Christopher Sieber
(fourth another Toss up but i am going for)
Kevin Cahoon
(so talented and so Hot)
probly
Christian Borle
(so he and Sutton can enjoy the moment)

Very few performers got the great reviews this year
cept Sara, Norbert and Victoria so it's a Great Race!

		     			Raul Esperanza

Oh my God, I think we found P. Diddy.

How the hell do u spell it?
Like it sounds: Esparza.
		     			Ess Par Za
I have gotten drunk with him and i can't spell his name
He's a nice guy

You updated your original message and still got his name wrong. Yes, I'm easily amused!

And what do you mean by asking if they have decided what category Cheyenne will be in? Have you seen ASU???

QM

		     			oy. I literally spelled it out! E S P A R Z A. *sigh*

Cheyenne is definitely a lead. No doubt, and I haven't even *seen* the show.

Thar's why I pull the Curtain Down and not edit the program.
I have not seen ASU and I know he has a large Part.
But that does not assure they will put him in the right category.
Scroll up and see Dick Van Dyke.

Well, he's playing the "Elvis" character, chad. In a show using Elvis' music, that's definitely the lead.
I think the musical actor nominees will only come from 2 shows and those will be:

Hank Azaria
Tim Curry
David Hyde Pierce
Norbert Leo Butz
John Lithgow

*And Norbert will win.
