Now I'm jealous that I attended the second-to-last performance of Spring Awakening, where all that song got was a standing O that went on for 3 minutes. The church bells finally shut them up.

I hear the song got a standing O, and an encore that was only planned for this performance. I bet there were many SA fans and "guilty ones" alike, singing along from the audience during that part. Did you get the feeling that it was planned or impromptu?

(As a side note: There were four curtain calls when I saw the second-to-last performance, and it wasn't even the last! That was unprecedented!)

It was planned. There was a special "Totally F'ed" rehearsal before the final show.

Yes, the second time, the audience was up dancing and singing.

It was def. planned...they opened the house a little late because of the rehearsal.

It was really delightful...I think they wanted and expected the audience to participate. And then, it just went back to "normal". Well, sort of normal....the vineyard scene had to stop after practically every line due to audience response. But it was all in love for Blake Daniel and Matt Doyle.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I was there, and the encore was wonderful. I loved that the audience was singing along.

TheCharleston, why do you post negatively in numerous SA threads? Are you bitter you didn't get cast at an open call?

Charleston doesn't reserve his bitterness for just the SA threads...

You're reminding me of people you hear at the movies asking questions every ten seconds, "Who is that? Why is that guy walking down the street? Who's that lady coming up to him? Uh-oh, why did that car go by? Why is it so dark in this theater?" - FindingNamo on strummergirl

"If artists were machines, then I'm just a different kind of machine...I'd probably be a toaster. Actually, I'd be a toaster oven because they're more versatile. And I like making grilled cheese" -Regina Spektor

"That's, like, twelve shows! ...Or seven." -Crazy SA Fangirl

"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott

Waldorf: I wish Gene Kelly would teach me to Charleston.
Statler: I wish Gene Kelly would DRIVE you to Charleston!
