I was wondering if anybody knew if the North American Tour version of the Phantom of the Opera has an alternate Christine Dae that does 2 performances a week like the Broadway production does. I know that Julia Udine has just stepped back into the primary Christine role. The show is currently touring at Washington DC's Kennedy Center. Thanks.

When I saw it last year, the actress playing the Princess was also listed as playing "Christine at certain performances". But there wasn't a published alternate schedule in the program. The website says the current actress playing the Princess is also the Christine u/s, but doesn't specifically say she is playing her "at certain performances". So who knows!
Interestingly, the Slave Master had a published schedule for an alternate (I don't know if that is usual?).

No alternate Christine is listed anywhere for the North American Tour so I think it's safe to assume this tour does not use one and Julia Udine performs all performances with her understudy filling in when she's out.

My guess is julia or who ever plays Christine just calls out on matinees. So if you want to see julia don't go to a matinee, but if you want to see her understudy go to a matinee. I don't get why they wouldn't have an alternate or at least a listed one for the tour. Isn't the role still as demanding as it is on Broadway? Christine probably has to sing more on tour, because they don't use a voice over when they go to the layer.

Krista Buccelato and Kaitlyn Davis alternate weeks the days the Principal is out.Katie Travis usually took Thursday evenings and Saturday matinees off.She is on a leave of absence until Sept. I heard Julia Udine has been out for a few days due to an on stage accident.Not sure when she'll return. Chris Mann was out last week from having an apectomy.
