ok, I have heard somewhere that there is a musical by this name coming to Broadway. Does anyone know anything about when, where, who wrote it? or was this a joke? thanks!
THis is not a joke.. It is being cast now and will arrive in August at the Dodger Spaces
It played NYMF last fall. Jenn Colella was among the cast. I have another acquaintance who had been in it at one time. I haven't heard anything about this cast but it is indeed being produced at Dodger Spaces.
So it's not Broadway, it's Off.
Here's my review when it played at the NYMF. https://www.broadwayworld.com/viewcolumn.cfm?colid=1297
I'd love to see this one get an off-Broadway production.

Thank you dry2olives, that was exactly what i was looking for but had NO idea I would recieve such an eloquent review! thank you! where else do you have reviews I could read for fun? Have they announced a cast yet for NYC?
Thank you, starlight2. I don't know about casting for a possible off-Broadway production, but I'm a theatre critic here at BroadwayWorld.com. Click here for a list of my reviews from the past year or so.

Hmm, definitely interested in seeing this. I am assuming, if they're casting (and another industry friend was called in for it so they must be), they have the funds in place. I hope so. I actually really like the Dodger Spaces and want to see them filled with great little off-Broadway shows.

oh my GOSH! Michael Dale, duh! I am an idiot! I did not put 2 and 2 (dry olives) together! Although I do like my martinis dry with 2 olives! I have read TONS of your hysterical and wonderful reviews, a few favs would be The Frogs, Altar Boyz, and thank goodness for your Brooklyn review, a breath of fresh air.
also Pacific Overtures, but I did love the Trailer Park one! Thanks for sharing your talent and humor with us! I googled Trailer Park and saw that they are having auditions last week and this week. What is Dodger Stages like and where is it located? Thanks again!
Thank you again starlight2. Dodger stages used to be a movie multiplex located beneath Worldwide Plaza on 50th Street and 8th Avenue. The Dodgers converted it to 5 off-Broadway theatres of various sizes. I think it's a wonderful idea to have these new spaces right next to the theatre district for shows that could appeal to Broadway audiences, but are too intimate for the larger houses.
Is it bad that I read this title and thought it was another thread about Britney Spears trying to do Wicked?
The actual show sounds funny, but a bit insulting. Thank god people actually living in trailer parks can't afford to go to the theater, so they won't have to see it. *sarcasm*
You know, I've been in trailer homes that are a lot bigger and nicer than my dinky little Upper West Side apartment.
