Treasure Island?

A little more than year ago, an article was published saying that Treasure Island was aiming for a Broadway debt in the summer of '07. Later, it was announced it was delayed from planning on opening at the Belasco. So I'm guessing this is cancelled? (Not that I'm upset or anything)

(of Penzance) didn't come in to the city following good runs at Goodspeed and in New Jersey.

As someone who is in the UK right now I can tell you that a version of treasure island is running over here.

Not sure if it was the broadway-bound incarnation, but it has just started performances nonetheless.

The UK Treasure Island isn't a musical.
I saw George Hearn in Jule Styne's adaptation, Piece of Eight when I was 6 at its premier at the Citadel in my hometown of Edmonton. I apparantly *loved* it, but I don't think many adults or critics did--did it ever get another production besides that try out?

The UK production has music by Tom Haines and Ross Hughes.
It's being advertised as a play with music. The production that has been a sell out across the UK can be heard on the shows website www.treasureislandtheplay.com
It stars Keith Allen, is the father of pop singer Lilly Allen.
