Well, I was hoping to see Hamilton next year, but I just checked and uhhhhhh....it's pretty much sold out throughout the year. And really really expensive. Has the second slot of tickets come out yet? And don't tell me it will be THAT expensive!

Last week they released tix through the end if Oct. Yes, don't expect the price to go down...but of course you didn't mention what price you were talking about. There ARE tix available here and there, you just have to be patient looking for them. Most if the incredibly expensive tix are either PREMIUM or RESALE SCALPERS.

I just booked a few days ago for October next year and paid $81 including fees and that was the cheapest option i could see. There was literally only 1 seat left at this price though and it was for a Wednesday matinee.
I cant believe Ticketmaster let scalpers buy and resell tickets at such a huge profit though. I have planned trips to NY in March and October next year and looking at tickets for March, all the tickets are resale tickets and they are selling the back row of the balcony for $230+ which would have originally cost a whole lot less than that. Some of the aisle seats in the stalls are being resold for $1,300! Which is extortionate! Im very thankful that i have my ticket for October, but am saddened that i will not likely be able to see the original cast unless i miraculously win the lottery in March.

Not sure what is so hard to believe. The producers didn't like scalpers making all that money so they added premium. Ticketmaster didn't like seeing all of its tickets earning extra money for StubHub. So, everyone just keeps wanting a piece of the action, rather than saying: How can we stop this?

In defense of some "scalpers": When you try to resell a ticket at a reasonable price (in my case, the same price I paid for a premium ticket I no longer want), Ticketmaster adds quite a bit on top of that. They added about $200 to what I was asking for my ticket (face value) so that I can get back what I paid. Of course, some people are asking for way more than that. I don't consider myself a scalper.

If you're in or near New York City you can go to the box office and buy box seats for the regular price. They are partial view, but I understand that aside from missing whatever action takes place on the far side of where you're sitting, you can see fine. Better than not being in the theater at all!

Just today I went to box office. Zero available for $57 thru 10/31. Ended up getting a pair of $99 row B seat 17 and 19 rear mezz for Wed 2pm 9/14. Ten long months. Who will I be seeing?

Sorry couldn't resist. They were in Ham4Ham today as the rest of the Hamilton children, with their own stories in rap (and some Sound of Music for the youngest Hamilton)
