Tuck Everlasting with Groff

Posted: 11/7/08 at 12:07amDoes anyone know what's up with this show? I love the demo, I think Jonathan Groff sings "Seventeen" correct? Have there ever been any readings or stagings? I can't really find any other information.

Posted: 11/7/08 at 12:10amWow. I didn't even know it was a demo! I adore Tuck Everlasting. Such a beautiful story. Could be very "LITP." I mean, if Adam Guettel were to write it. I have no idea who actually wrote it.

Oh wow, I would love it if this was true. It's one of my favorite books, but I thought the movie was so-so.

Duuuude, I had no idea that there was any kind of musical being planned for Tuck Everlasting! Groff is definitely the PERFECT person to do it, though, for sure :)
I too loved the book and actually really enjoyed the movie as well. I thought it was beautiful.
I would DEFINITELY be interested in hearing the demo if someone could point me to it!

Posted: 11/10/08 at 10:33pmListening to JGroff singing "Seventeen" now. It's... beautiful. Really. All of the songs on the demo are just... perfect. I said it could possibly be like LITP, but (coincidentally) it actually reminds me quite a bit of Floyd Collins.

Posted: 11/10/08 at 11:06pmMy only question now is who sings what? I know Groff sings Seventeen and that one song (All The Time In The World) with Phoebe Strole, but not sure who else sings what. Would appreciate possible clarification.

Thom Sesma, Jonathan Groff, Phoebe Strole, Bryce Ryness, Ben Roseberry, Lisa Howard
That's the cast. I think Bryce Ryness sings "My Anna." I could be entirely wrong.

A-ha, thank you Color. I'm just trying to label the tracks for my phone and wanted to make sure. Appreciate it. :) These tracks really are so cool. Sorry if this shows my lack of obscure theatre knowledge, but this is the first demo I've heard of a show that doesn't exist. It's just so cool to have now.

Posted: 11/15/08 at 3:37amGreat video. Someone asked for the lyrics. I'd type them up, but there's some parts that I can't make out. It is a great song.

Thanks! I may put up the other ones if I find the time.
I also thought about typing the lyrics too, but I can't understand some parts completely either.

While I have no information on anything happening with any production of TE; Groff is pretty busy for the next year or so.
He just started previews for the play, Prayer for My Enemy at Playwrights Horizon (I THINK it's PH) and then right after the holiday he returns for Hair rehearsals. I would SUSPECT he has a year contract for that.
None of those mean that they are not still working it nor does it mean that he is or is not still attached to it. The only thing it does mean is that it won't be a fully realized production anytime too soon.

"Seventeen" is an awesome song. Thanks for the info.
But according to Thomson and Mann's site, "Seventeen" was recorded by Ben Roseberry. Can anyone confirm that it's Jonathan Groff? Groff recorded "All The Time In The World" with Phoebe Strole.

Posted: 11/15/08 at 4:57pmYeah, I don't think that's Groff singing in the YouTube video. It sounds like him at points, but not consistently.
